Great device. Bought it as the box from xfinity was not delivering the audio quality for my 11.2 audio ATMOS setup in my theater. I can feel the sounds and separation now!

If your tv isn't smart or you want an extremely powerful device to stream, this is for you. Fast, feature laden and easy to setup and add apps to. Not cheap but worth it.

The AI 4k changes are great for content 720p and above.
The remote improvements are also great.
Everything else that made the shield tv a great unit are still there: game streaming from a PC, android TV apps, and solid performance on all I've used.

NVIDIA - SHIELD Android TV Pro is amazing, swift, and easy to setup. The remote controller is very nice and easy to navigate, the remote control also has a backlight, and it senses when you pick it up then turns on the light.

Best Streaming Device Out There - PLUS RETRO GAMES

The SHIELD is the best Android TV streaming box on the market. You get 4K streaming, Dolby Atmos, DTS-X surround sound, and 4K Chromecast support. Plus you can use it as a Plex media server to store and stream all your personal media. The SHIELD also can be used as a smart home hub for Google Assistant and/or Alexa. And if all this is not enough, The SHIELD also plays games, including Android games, PC titles, GeForce Now, and Google Stadia. And the best part: you can use the SHIELD to set up your own retro gaming console system, from the Atari 2600, Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, Nintendo Entertainment System, Super NES, Sega Genesis, Neo Geo, Playstation, Sega Dreamast, N64, Gamecube, and Nintendo Wii. The SHIELD commands a premium price, but you get what you pay for.

Bought for my grandparents who find it very easy to use and when they can’t figure something out they just ask the remote to do it. And the picture quality is amazing along with the transition effect between actions are smoother. Very happy

A must have if you have a 4k TV. With streaming services having so many titles to choose from there is a surprising lack of 4k content, but this can help fill that gap with its upscaling capability.
Not the biggest fan of nvidia as a company, but you just can’t deny that they are the leader in graphics and AI right now. On top of the excellent picture, it’s also just miles beyond everything else performance wise. No more lagging and glitching TV interfaces.

Great device for streaming and gaming. Compatible with Dolby Vision, HDR, and Dolby Atmos sound. The Shield also gives you access to GeForce (an online library of next gen games available to purchase and download, and it does have the ability to pair to xbox and PlayStation controllers.) The device itself is extremely compact and can be stored away just about anywhere out of sight. Android doesn’t have the app support Apple does, but if you know how to side load, you’ll have no issue with that. The interface is not great, it looks really generic and has just, very basic features. For some, this is no issue at all. At first, it never bothered me, but then after having it about 6 months, I decided to get an AppleTV 4K, and the features are some much better on an AppleTV when compared side-by-side (Apple’s “watch next,” “sports,” etc. tabs are great features, and there is nothing the Shield aftershock that is similar). Overall it’s a great device to side load apps and games (sideloaded mine with retro NES and SNES games) and stream content.

Shield Pro is the only Plex player I have found to be able to stream (over internet) 4k content with little to no buffering, even when skipping around.
The nvidia GeForce experience PC game streaming feature is quite incredible.

Best Android streamer on the market!

After looking for a very long time for a streamer that plays all of the main services in 4K with Atmos and being disappointed time and again after my purchases (Roku doesn't do Dolby Vision at all, Apple TV wont play uTube in 4K or Prime in Dolby Vision or offer Fandango at all and it converts Dolby Digital Plus to PCM losing some performance in the process, Tivo Stream 4K won't play Vudu or Fandango in 4K and plays HDR completely messed up). This unit comes as a breath of fresh air. It plays ALL apps in whatever formats they offer! ALL OF THEM! And the picture quality is the best of all the streamers I've tried too (including 4K bluray players from the likes of Sony and Samsung)! Even the sound is excellent! If you are okay with the Android platform, this is the best streamer on the market!

Excellent streaming box! Moved from an Apple TV 4K to this and definitely won’t look back. AI upscaling is fantastic and ease of use is great. Android TV is way more customizable and the ability to sideload apps is a huge plus.

Outstanding product . This thing never skips a beat. Its snappy and fast in pretty much every way.
If you have an Nvidia GPU with Nvidia experience, you are able to stream games from your PC to another room.
I tested a number of peripherals; xbox one s bluetooth controller, wireless keyboard and mouse, external ssd, flash drives , you name it . It handles anything you throw at it expertly. The only thing I really have to complain about is the remote. The triangular design is comfortable but also annoying at the same time. And I wish the dedicated Netflix button did not exist. Not only is it unnecessary but, its large , overly sensitive and in the worst place possible. I can't tell you how many times I mistakenly breathe on it and suddenly my program is interrupted by Netflix' splash screen.
