Fantastic and worth every cent! We had a long term problem with audio dropping from Direct TV and streaming services. I replaced virtually everything from the TV to the receiver (all high end), same problem. Direct TV came out and replaced the DVR, same problem. The NVIDIA Shield was recommended by a friend, installed the Shield in about 2 minutes and the system works perfect. ATMOS and surround work better than ever and now all the streaming services are available with one click.
I wish I would have learned about this a few weeks sooner!

Great resolution, easy to use and set up, plenty of apps to add, but the remote control's buttons are very sensitive. Just be careful how you lay it down.

Best streaming box hands down. I’ve owned a lot of different boxes. It works almost flawlessly. This is my third box. I prefer the Shield. Worth every penny.

My first Android TV experience was the Nexus Player (which I was actually very happy with until Google bricked it with an update). That experience got my interest peaked, but I knew I didn't want to have to regularly purchase a replacement every few years. I did my research, and lo and behold, I stumbled upon the 2nd iteration of this beast of a entertainment option. I was at impressed with quality of performance & the frequency of support and updates, that when it came to purchase another (and even make recommendations to friends and family) the Shield was a no-brainer. Very satisfied with 3rd generation, as well! No contest!

I recently bought a 4K Samsung smart TV, and while I was generally satisfied with the picture quality, there were some performance issues with certain apps. I wanted a machine that could, at a minimum, process Netflix 4K shows and movies without artifacts, but I was also interested in streaming games from my PC to my TV. For this purpose, the Shield Pro was the device I settled on. While Android TV has some quirks compared to Samsung's Tizen OS, I feel that the positives greatly outweigh any issues I've had with it.

Not to much of an upgrade to the previous Nvidia, It's slightly faster then the previous one. The best part of the pro is the remote much better that the other one, It has a off button plus a better volume control and a shortcut to Netflix button.

I have had this for a few years now. It’s nice for watching tv and cloud gaming. The only issue is the lack of support and updates. It’s small, light weight and powerful.

I researched for months the nvidia shield features and it’s price tag. I was hesitant because I was used to firestick and did not want to spend the money . It does not disappoint! Right out of the box the device was up and running within minutes. The device is a major upgrade from a firestick in every aspect. Handles multiple APKs flawlessly. Ai upscaling is very cool. 16 gigs for apps is plenty with the ability to expand with usb. You will not regret. I ordered a remote cover from Amazon and shield game controller and shield stand from nvidia directly as Best Buy did not carry it.

I also have the 500GB Pro model from before & it’s only slightly better in my opinion. The upconversion feature works but anything less than 720p gets massive grain so not worth it on that content my Panasonic 4K player blows this away in that department in fact Amazon, Netflix & Youtube content i all watch on the player instead. If you don’t have a shield at all I do highly recommend this for its streaming potential & the fact it supports Dolby Vision the main reason I upgraded. There is supposed to be a better processor in this one but I don’t see any difference between the 2 devices.

I love my shield pro. It is (for now) the only streaming device I recommend. Unless you want to utilize AirPlay then you get an Apple TV. But for all my streaming needs I now just use this. I stopped using my Fire TV products. They were always so slow.

This thing is fast. I love the AI upscaling as well. It's much better than I expected. The interface is easy to use and Google Assistant built in is great. The remote, although an improvement over last generations Shield TV, still leaves a lot of room for improvement. The Netflix button should be programmable, along with a couple more programmable buttons. That's really know only nag. The price is a bit high, but if you want the best streaming box out there, this is probably it.

Always used a amazon firestick for years. Been debating spending a lot extra for an upgrade. It was the best decision that i made the upscale feature make all of the difference. Picture quality is so much better. Also plenty of space to add more apps if you choose to do so.

The KING of all media players is back. If you have a previous generation of Shield, this is likely not worth upgrading to, however I needed a second Shield, and this thing is AWESOME! The best media player there is hands down. Nothing handles video formats like the SHIELD, and the Shield PRO even has new tech to upscale your SD content. If you have a 4K HDR screen, and want the most flexible, and dependable player, look no further. KODI runs LIKE A CHAMP, HDR video files, all surround sound formats, awesome!!

Have been contemplating this upgrading from firesticks, chromecast, native smart tv apps, etc, and now wondering whybinwaited so long! Noticeably better picture quality on all streaming apps, faster load times, absolutely no buffering. Have a large plex server library, which is the main reason I made the leap, and so happy i did. And with Best Buy's price match guarantee, i didn't miss out on the price drop that finally happened a month after my purchase, which I was waiting over a year for.

I had a 380X tv box for about 7 years, I paid 30 bucks for it online. One day it refused to turn on, so I went to my local Bestbuy to buy another brand box, my firestick was way too slow and I had it in the closet. This is no joke, there was times that pressing a button that would take up to a minute to respond to the command, so I just tossed that piece of garbage to the trash. So, it had to be a firebox, apple TV or something. I saw the shield, looked at the reviews and they were great, but the price was a little too intimidating, then I saw that it had a video pad and free online games. I bought it.
The first thing I did not like was that the remote battery died after 3 months, the Google play store no good, I couldn't even install Chrome, neither Firefox browser, I had to go to their respective webpage and I had to download a downloader to make it posible. But it was fast, very fast compared to the rest of my boxes. I could live with that. some of the free to play games(I don't buy new games) I played a few. Everything was tolerable until the expiration of its warranty expired, from then, it became just a piece of junk. Two years with minor and fixable problems. I started to notice that the free to play games were disappearing to count of only 3 games. The Wifi has been messing up very badly, I thought there was no way the shield was failing, so I just kept calling Spectrum almost every 12 hours, until they sent me a technician and he found nothing wrong with my connection. It is just hateful to be watching a game and all of the sudden your streaming ends abruptly out of no reason. I kept blaming Spectrum, I couldn't believe my shield was failing like that. Until I waited for it to drop again, I ran to my laptop, ran a speed test, marvelous; i did the same thing with my son's tablet and the test? Flawless; I tried my cellphone wifi, and everything was just fine. I ran a speed test using the analiti app. I ran the test and it was dead, no wifi(Disconnected, please try again later), I pressed the key to retest it and nothing, then the application gives you the option to reconnect, I did that, and it worked, three hours later it did it again, it became so frustrated that I din't know what to do to reset it. disconnecting from the power cable... thousands of times. resetting through the commands, thousands of times, the problem persisted. I factory reset it to see if there was a software issue, I had to download all my apps back again and yes, it seemed a little faster and worked with no problems the whole day, the day after the problem resumed like I did nothing to it. It became a piece of junk.
Now, the it refuses to connect, it don't matter what I do, is dead after two years, 200 hundred dollars for two years of not so good service against 30 bucks for 7 years with a cheap tv box? I thing the tale tell the story itself. Buy cheap boxes, you may die by the fifth one and you won't spend the $200 dollars for an expensive piece of expensive junk. Now I have a beautiful black brick with no wifi. Thanks NVIDIA! Thanks for building a box which only last its warranty. I do not recommend it.
