However, it remains a strong contender among home streaming devices. Although it operates on Android TV (Google's earlier version of TV experiences), it's still impressive. NVIDIA will continue to provide updates, with the latest in January 2025. Its wired networking capability gives it an advantage over other streaming devices, and its compatibility with Steam Link and XBOX cloud gaming is an added bonus for enthusiasts. In summary, it's a worthwhile choice for anyone who enjoys digital media and desires a device robust enough to manage just about anything.

Fast android TV box

Expensive thou, with an $50 chromecast with google tv you can basically do most thing as with this device.

Excellent Streaming Box

I have not had any issues with either version of the Nvidia Shield TV. I do prefer this one for better picture since I have a LG OLED TV and atmos speakers. Amazing setup and I highly recommend it. I'm also a gamer, but prefer PlayStation. However, occasionally I will purchase games on Steam. Now that I have a way to play those away from my PC and get free games also that's great! I haven't played any games with GeForce NOW yet, but am looking forward to giving it a try.

Best streaming box

I had to buy external device to connect network cable and hard drive which was nothing but pain. I was not able to play media files, and always had connection issues. Just to give you some perspective, I have a 500gb and 1tb drives connected to my nvidia shield2019 and both are working flawless. The UI is very friendly and no issues watching 4k videos on youtube and netflix. I wish the price was a bit cheaper. Then again you get what you pay for.

Been debating spending a lot extra for an upgrade. It was the best decision that i made the upscale feature make all of the difference. Picture quality is so much better. Also plenty of space to add more apps if you choose to do so.
