The best 4K steaming device

I’ve had some technical issues with my new tv and my previous streaming box. After researching a few days, I settled with the Nvidia shield pro; I am pleased I did. This streaming box is underrated. The UI is fluid, the remote feels good in the hand, and I’ve had no problems finding all of the apps I need. My only suggestion is to add a home button to the remote In future iterations.

Constant app & device updates helps keep everything running smoothly. Unlike the baked in apps on your TV. Produces beautiful picture with Dolby Vision AND Atmos. The Bluetooth remote is great, no need for "line of sight" anymore. If you want a liklckity split fast, smooth and wide open TV app hub, this is your beast!!!

Greatest Streaming Console.

That had the 500 gb drive in it, but I have external 4 TB drives now. Lol. My old pro finally gave up the "ghost" after 7 years of medium usage and gaming. Look forward to another 7 or more years with this new unit. The Nvidia Shield Pro is the best android product period.

Best in Class Streaming Media Player w/ Google

(I landed mine for under $180) I have used several different types of streaming media players over the past 10 years and this Nvidia Shield has by far the BEST user interface out there. So So much stronger and faster than any other HDTV brand internal media player.

worse than Apple TV in all but 2 ways still good

The shield is only better than the Apple TV 4K in 2 ways: 1) it can play 4k blu-ray demuxes perfectly via plex. AppleTV can play them, but sacrifices either Atmos or dolby vision. 2) the AI upscaling is pretty cool on the shield. But I enjoy using the Apple TV much more - not bombarded by ads, and I also find the shield to be somewhat buggy, sometimes I need to reboot it, sometimes it gets caught in a cec loop where it keeps turning on all my devices, etc.

The Shield is old, but it has been much more reliable than Fire TV when used with my Epson projector.

The apps are great and Nvidia Shield's updates are timely. Major up grade from Amazon Fire stick. My only compliant would be the price, but if you find it on sale it would an even be a better deal.

Easy get this one its fast, loaded with your favorite apps and you can play nvidia games to boot if you add a controller. It really is the only one you will ever need. One con I can think of it doesn't make it easy to download and install 3rd party apps.
