Perfect streaming experience.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I've had nearly every streaming device and the Nvidia Shield is simply the best. It's more responsive than others, no lag when pushing any menu button. The AI upscaling makes for an awesome viewing experience. The UI us pretty simple and user friendly. There is no streaming device that I've owned or used that's as beautiful as this one. The games available are perfect and abundant. Spent the money. It's well worth it.

NVD shield
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like the shield But I think they are overpriced compared to similiar devices and it has a small starage capacity

Great for anyone, but especially tech nerds
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great streaming service. Out of the box, it's an easy to use Android TV, which is nice because you are not hit with advertisements all the time like you are with other popular streaming devices. Even better, this is good if you have a nerdy side and want to play around with things like a Plex server. I would only plan to stop using it if I am just buying the next model to come out.

Get it!
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been a shield user for some times now. I have tried all kinds of android boxes, fire sticks, and rokus. Nothing has ever come close to the performance and versatitly of the shield. I highly recommend anyone in the fence about the shield to just do it. You won't be sorry.

Great device for streaming and gaming!!!
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The set up is really easy. I personally use it for game emulation and general streaming and it handles both very well. The AI upscaler actually makes a difference when watching videos on netflix and other apps. It has every video streaming app except appletv+. I would highly recommend this to anyone who doesn’t have a smart tv.

Tiny but Powerful!
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Highly recommended. I bought this to seamlessly play my GEFORCE Games on my TV comfortably. It was everything I had hoped for, You can also install apps from the Google Play store, like tv apps or if you're into gaming you can even install Retroarch. It boots up fast, all apps that I have installed loads very quickly even YouTube TV. Think of this as a powerful Roku but with more options.

Perfect for Emulation and Cloud Gaming
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The reason I got this was to play my PC library on my TV since consoles are so hard to get a hold of, and this tiny little box does the job perfectly! Beautiful AI upscaling tech, and with Android TV as its OS, I have more options than just my Steam library. Overall, great purchase. If you are looking for a console alternative, you are looking at the best.

Best in Class Streaming Media Player w/ Google
||Posted . Owned for 3 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Buy Buy Buy at Best Buy! (I landed mine for under $180) I have used several different types of streaming media players over the past 10 years and this Nvidia Shield has by far the BEST user interface out there. So So much stronger and faster than any other HDTV brand internal media player.

Best Streaming Device Available
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the older Shield and was happy with it. I was interested in the new version and decided to get it for my Christmas gift. It seems to be a little faster and better color resolution. The thing I like best is the triangular remote. I ordered an extra one for my old Shield. It was moved into the bedroom and improved our streaming capability over the Roku we had been using. Shield IS the Best!

My main entertainment system
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is by far the best smart tv device out there. I upgraded to this from the 2017 model to get the 4k AI upscaling and it's totally worth it. I have encountered a few issues though such as the YouTube app freezing and requiring a full system reboot and the volume on the remote often gets stuck going to min or max by itself. Not sure if this is the hardware fault or an Android issue.

Not a huge improvment over 2017
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. But I still had to get it. I don't game on the Shield so all the horsepower improvements really don't offer me any benefits. I use it strictly for video. The one big feature I was looking forward to was AI scaling. This was actually a big disappointment. I work with large photoshop files (actually small files that I have to make bigger sometimes) and you can't create good detail from small images. When you blow up the images you also blow up artifacts and imperfections. You can hit it with filters and do some manual manipulations to better the image but it's still no where near what a native high res image would look like. In my opinion the AI scaling uses way too much sharpening and actually adds too much detail to compression artifacts. If you had a high bitrate source maybe the scaling would work better, but most my sources are streaming services or old DVD rips and a few BR rips from years ago. Upscaling with a slight blur looks better as it doesn't enhance the poo-poo in the video and I can't stop seeing the artifacts with AI upscale. Honestly I'd have been better off saving my money and sticking with the 2017 version, but I love how nVidia continues to improve their products with firmware upgrades and features. If this were owned by Samsung they'd have abandoned it after 6 months. The 2017 version had an upgrade just a few months ago. So I had to show some support to the best android tv device out there.
