Purchased this for my LG TV to run different streaming apps. This blows Roku away, This is made by Nvidia, who is the leader in graphic cars as far as I and millions of others agree. Nvidia is a name brand to trust. So many more features than the Google Chrome and Roku I had before this. If you want to step up your game, this is the way to go!

Shield tv is very powerful and well-built. Remote is great if you program it to work with your tv. Play store on here is better than what you get with the Amazon fire boxes. Shield is also very versatile and regularly upgraded. It's a bit expensive unfortunately, but if you can afford it, get it. It will last you years!

I purchased this after reading several positive reviews. I would say overall I am exceedingly pleased. The most positive thing I can say is that the AI up scaling is amazing. If you don’t get carried away with it the picture from an HD source can look very much like a 4k image. The App Store is plentiful with streaming sources you can expect. My only negative is that after tweaking a few settings the shield had trouble recognizing being connected to an Ethernet source. A factory reset took care of the issue though.

Best Smart TV device ever! I had the original and upgraded. The original was great, moved it up to the bedroom. This one now dominates the Livingroom. I like smartTV Devices since they are easier to update and have more features than smart TVs themselves. I'd prefer to get a dumb TV that looks great and not pay extra for smart features I don't use. Regardless, the Shield TV is great, get one!

This is hands down the best streaming device available and has been since the OG Shield in 2015. You name it and this thing can do it. Download any andorid app sure...be a plex server...why not. Play 4k Dolby Vision movies....easy. The only other option for a streaming device would be the Apple TV 4K but as far as functionality this one is far above and beyond better.

You can actually store video files on this device and play them with an app. Dead-nuts simple remote. Add storage with an external device, use apps for streaming. So nice.

The Best Streaming Media Device on the Market

The Nvidia Shield TV 2019 is hands down the best Streaming Media Device currently on the market. I have several Roku Products and own several smart TVs, but none of them are as snappy and intuitive as the Nvidia Shield TV. The AI upscaling is a really useful feature for lower resolution content displayed on a 4K screen. You pay a premium for this device, but it is definitely worth it.

It's okay, if you were maybe doing some light gaming, video is okay, and the unit seems to need to be unplugged every once in a while, as it locks up, network port failed, wi-fi is okay when it works, it drops connection when high end wi-fi router sitting 20 feet away in plain sight, I never had this issue with my Fire cube from Amazon it's over priced maybe if it had like more system ram like 8 or 16 and more storage, why do these companies thing 2 or 4 gigs of ram is enough, but yet our cellphones have so much more.

I purchased this for the sole reason I Wanted to play Stardew valley with someone multiplayer while having full screen viewing on both devices. It does that beautifully, as well as many other things like Netflix Hulu Disney+, and other games can be streamed using the steam link app.

This is the holy grail of streaming media players. I've had and used 2 variations of the Xiaomi mi box and had no idea what I was missing. An Android TV experience without input lag and frequent was par for the course until I bought this. Powerful enough to run it's own Plex media server. Easy to setup, the entire world of streaming media at your fingertips.

    Such Disappointment

Had this thing for well over a year now. At least once a night, usually multiple times a night, it drops the internet connection, and I have to go back out to the home screen, then into the settings, and select the connection (which it claims it never dropped) and then go back to what I was watching. The cheap Chinese "MeCool" streaming box I have in my office has literally never once dropped the connection. I keep hoping a software patch will fix the issue, but alas, I remain disappointed a full year later

Is very good at streaming just about any protocol. That’s what I got it for, for my video file library. It also has easy access to other streaming services and Chromecast. These were bonuses for me. However, I have difficulty with the displayed names of my video files, especially for TV. If it would just display my file names and sort by then, that’d be great. But it tries to be too clever, and about 30% of the time displays the wrong name. Frustrating, and why it doesn’t get a 5.
