Was the best streaming unit before last update

This was the best streaming unit hands down. Best Plex support, clean interface, easy to use. Not anymore! They now have ads that depending on how you view the main screen take up 1/4 to 3/4 of the screen. They also won't be for stuff you care about, it's about what they want to heavily promote. It's also so poorly implemented that some have been getting Christmas ads in June. With other options that are cheap, you get the understanding that it's cheap because you are getting ads. This is a premium device and should not have ads. It was sold as an ad free device when I purchased it. You can install a custom launcher and that hides the ads, but that is fairly ridiculous to have to do that in the first place.

Out of literally hundreds of options for similar devices, shield is the only one that i will buy over and over, because it has maximum performance and excellent customer service.... most other devices arent powerful enough or just cheap import items

May be the best streaming device available! Sleek, completely automated app setup, amazing video abd sound capabilities! Small enough to fit anywhere and a unique and intuitive remote control operating on Bluetooth. Very impressive package for all those who appreciate quality hardware and software - and silky integration.

Works great with my Insignia TV. Replaced a raspberry pi with Kodi/Jellyfin and Roku on my setup. Connected some 8BitDo controllers and I have a nice gaming setup too. Don't waste money on the stand 3D printed if you can

This (2019 Nvidia Shield TV pro) is the best streamer there is other than using a computer with a high end video card. It's a great improvement over the previous models as well. The contrast ratio and sharpness is much better as well as the detail and motion of videos. The menu is a little snappier and the apps run better as well. I only purchased this as an extra in another room and immediately saw the difference so it became my main unit. The sound quality is better as well, especially in the detail and upper range. Didn't think there would be much of any difference but the newer model is clearly better in all aspects of audio/video performance. Worth the upgrade if you have a high end display device and want to squeeze out that last bit of audio/video quality and detail. Don't forget a high end hdmi cable or else it's simply not worth it.

The AI upscaling is fantastic. GeForce Now is great. It has all the streaming apps you'd ever need and more. The only negative I'd have to say about is that it no longer includes the controller. I purchased this vs the tube one to try out the Plex Media Server with hardware decoding, but have not tested this yet.

Glad that I decided to go with this model. It looks smaller in life and it doesn't come with the stand, but can sits vertically. Installation is easy, and the remote is nice to hold and could control turn on my Bose systems, volume, and TV. The scrolling response and loading are super fast.

Glad a switched to this from the Fire TV. You can do so much more with it and it runs very smooth. No delay or apps crashing. Love that you can add a usb drive to expand the storage space. The 4k AI upscale seems to work really well too. Great product for those that like flexibility and do a lot of streaming.

One of the nicest streaming devices available in regards to technical specs and features. Fast response, excellent video quality. However it is overpriced and does not include a controller. Limited storage if you play any of the games available or use a DVR. Also the GeForce Now steaming service is unavailable. You can request access but the service is in beta and has been for years.

I love the NVIDIA - SHIELD Android TV Pro. I almost find each thing I want. It exceeds my expectations. It is a dynamic device; it updates itself with new applications (apps). I am very comfortable and joyful using it and I stay longer before my TV using it. I do not worry about not having cable, not at all. Great stuff.

Not has fast as people say it is, but it's good. Upscaling is really good. You really don't need to pay Netflix 4k prices, when the upscaling on this pretty darn close. I'm happy I got this. Those who prefer a more basic interface I would rec Roku. The only thing that is missing for my fam is the Nick Jr app.

This is the best Android TV streaming device, and the best streaming device on the market, period. However it is also incredibly expensive, and there are other devices that will do 90% of the same work for a fraction of the cost. It also does not support YouTube HDR which is a bummer, but not a dealbreaker.
