Great Piece of Tech
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this after buying the new Chromecast and not being impressed with its processing power. It was slow and laggy, even though it was brand new. When I installed the SHIELD even my wife, who isn't very into technology, said how great it felt navigating through menus and how the remote felt better in her hand - and I agree! I love being able to play games from my desktop PC, which is upstairs, on the big 4k TV in my living room. I use wired connections on both ends, and the input delay and latency is virtually unnoticeable - a great contrast to the chromecast where I had significant input delay. The AI upscaling also looks great. Playing 1080p content and upscaling to 4k is nearly indistinguishable from native 4k playback. The remote has a beeper in it so that, of you lose it, you can use the "find remote" feature and the remote will start beeping so you can find it. The remote shape was a little concerning to me because it's so different, but after much use, I like its shape. It doesn't get lost in the couch so easily and it really doesn't feel strange in your hand. Overall, if you are interested in a Android TV device, and want to get the best there is to offer, then look no further. This has all the bells and whistles you could hope for and then some!

Best streaming device currently. New model AI work
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had the last gen shield and it was great on its own. It direct plays almost everything without conversion and just works. The new model adds the AI which cleans up the picture quality for non 4k content and it works really well. There's a great test mode where you can do a split screen comparison and it's clearly noticeable how much sharper it is. Speedwise, I don't notice any difference than the older one. The remote is better than the last one, but I'm still not a huge fan of the triangular shape. Overall, it's still the best streaming device IMO.

Still the Best
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The new NVIDIA Shield Pro is by far the best Streamer made, the cost is high, but the reward is worth it. The new processor and ram makes all operations run like a charm, if you want the best, stop wasting your money on inferior products. The new remote is also great, my only complaint with the remote is there is no mute button, other than that you will love the over all capability of this product.

There is no better streaming device
||Posted . Owned for 6 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Shield TV runs every Android TV app I've tried, much faster than my smart TVs (Android or otherwise), and does so much more that it's honestly a little overkill. It can run streaming services, games, smart home apps, antenna TV, etc etc etc with the right accessories. One of these makes the entertainment center complete.

Excellent for 4K home theater
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you've got a 4K setup this is the streaming device to get. Plus, it passes-thru/handles Dolby Atmos and the other high end audio formats. It can also handle Dolby Vision. The only item I would change is the size of the remote (and get rid of the Netflix button as I'm always touching it accidentally). On the plus side, the remote lights up so that's a very good thing.

Best streaming box yet!
||Posted . Owned for 4 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We love the shield. Upgraded from the Fire devices and this blows them out of the water. Faster, more support! Using this with our 4k TV & love it. We use this for netflix, hulu and Amazon Prime 4K content is stunning. The black levels are great, the picture is great. Fast start up and cool down. Really pleased!

Great performance for TV viewing
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very fast performance and easy to navigate screens. Adding additional apps is stright forward with many options available. Does keep pushing for 'suggestions' to be added even after they are turned off which is very annoying. Needs to have a sound leveling option akin to what Roku has to keep sound levels stable.

AI Upscaling is amazing, but low storage
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is such a great streaming device! Super fast, Geforce Now is awesome. Only complaint is that there isn’t enough storage space - you’ll run out very quickly. I need to research if I can expand it with an USB hard drive or flash drive because of it.. AI upscaling is super cool and 1080p footage almost looks like 4K

Great for many things, but has a few serious bugs
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. As a streaming device this is very good, but there are some issues with streaming PC games that need to be worked out. The biggest issue is that I have a lot of problems getting disconnected from the PC in the middle of a game when using the GameStream application. I can usually reconnect in 30 seconds or so, but nobody wants to spend 30 seconds reconnecting mid gameplay especially if you are playing online. This only happens with the GameStream app however, the Steam Link app works great and I never get disconnected from that. When game streaming does work properly it works great with excellent frame rates and graphical fidelity. I can stream in 4k or 1440p and get the same framerates I do when playing directly on my PC. One issue I will note however is that I can't stream games in HDR as my computer monitor does not support HDR yet my TV does, unfortunately the PC sees my monitor doesn't support it and greys out the option so I can't use it even though the actual screen I am playing on does have HDR. I do have 4k support on my monitor so I am able to stream in 4k, but while I haven't tested it I suspect people who don't have 4k will be limited to streaming at their monitor's max resolution rather than the television's max resolution. That said there is still a lot to like about this device, as a streaming device the AI upscaling makes it one of the best, if not the best, streaming device on the market. Overall it is a very good device, but if you do plan to use it to stream PC games be aware that there are some very frustrating bugs associated with that technology if you are playing anything that is not on Steam.

Awesome android TV box.
||Posted . Owned for 9 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Simply an amazing android TV, with a really really good remote. I use this constantly for netflix, disney+, peacock, google movies and music. Very responsive, super stable with excellent wifi reception, and again remote is fantastic with great voice command recognition & easy connectivity to other devices. Highly recommend, although the regular version is nearly as good.

Shield Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. In my opinion this is still the best way to stream apps. Speed, ease of use, versatility and quality. I use YouTube TV, YouTube, Plex, Disney plus. Consider us extreme usage. Had our first unit for 2 years bought a second for the bedroom. Highly recommend.

Nvidia Shield TV Pro
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.A great streamer. The primary motivation for buying this product was to get around my LG OLED TV’s N wireless adaptor, and it’s 100MB Ethernet adaptor. The shield has AC wifi and a gig Ethernet port. I was really down on LG for putting network adaptor technology that conservitely was replaced 10 years ago. A AC adaptor and gig port maybe would cost them a couple of bucks today. I found out that most TV brands are still built today with those really slow components. The justification I’ve read is Netflix and most other streaming plateforms only require speeds of 20 meg or so, why bother. Bother because I’ll think about it next time I consider dropping 3 grand on a TV! The Nvidia shield works great. It has apps for just about everything, including HBO MAX which my LG TV does not! Substituting the Shield TV in place of the TV’s smart apps provides a better Home Screen and interface for content. The hardware is attractive enough to show off, however small enough to tuck away. The remote control is Bluetooth so line of sight is not of concern. The streaming quality of 4K UHD content is excellent, and while I’ve trashed LG a bit, the 77” OLED display is to die for. The shield has a good processor, but since I don’t game, I’ve read it is a bit overkill for my purpose. It can run a Plex server, but it appeared to me that any storage for content needed to be attached the the Shield (i.e. no network drives). The Plex client app worked fine with a Plex server elsewhere on my home network. I was slightly disappointed that if your choice was to use a Emby server, the client app will cost you a modest fee. The Nvidia Shield TV Pro is an excellent product. There are less expensive alternatives, but for $200, it’s likely best of breed.

A necessity!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Started out with a couple Rolu sticks. When it was time to graduate, I went with nvidia. The AI Upscaler is amazing! The backlit remote was a nice touch. I purchased a second device for my bedroom. Was a little intimidated by the technology at first, but nothing google cannot teach you.
