This remote is small and is perfect for using the box!

I got this remote free with my purchase of the Shield TV Pro 500 gb system. While I'm happy to have it and use it constantly I still need to have the gamming controller close by. It isn't as functional as the game controller and I really dislike the volume control touch slide thing. The remote is of great quality but it just isn't worth the asking price being how limited you are using just this remote alone.to try and control the Shield TV system. It is a nice remote but don't go thinking you'll be able to take the big game controller off your coffee table because you will be reaching for it often. Mouse support would have been really nice because as it sits right now this "extra accessory" is only half way there. If I hadn't have gotten it for free with the system I would have been in shock paying retail. It is of great quality and looks cool but beyond that it's really nothing special. The money would be better spent on a good universal remote.

I am so glad that we decided to purchase this remote - it makes navigating the apps much easier )from the ladies point of view!). My husband said he would have dealt with just using the controller but I love having the remote. Well worth the money in my opinion!

Works as a remote but shows as a Bluetooth device. When you use bt speakers the headphones are useless. And Nvidia tech support passes it off as user error even when you tell them the controller works fine with headphones and bt speakers. So it's a firmware issue but so far they ignore that. You have to unpaired bt speakers from the console to use headphones on the remote. I'm guessing Nvidia is now offering a free remote because they have no interest in updating the remote firmware. Hopefully this review gets passed to Nvidia as said earlier the controller switches from bt speakers to headphones just doesn't do this with remote.

I had to purchase this because the new NVIDIA Shield comes with a non-rechargeable remote. This remote also also for remote listening since they took that function away from the new Shield. I'm glad Best Buy offered the best price on this remote!

While not the most exciting thing to review, this product really makes the Shield a true TV box, using the game controller just isn't as easy and looks clunky sitting on a coffee table. It does the job and has some weight to it.

I didn't like using the game controller for streaming movies so I got this even though it's way too expensive. It should come with the console in my opinion. It has rechargeable batteries via micro usb cable that comes with it.

Haven't really messed around that much with this remote cause of controller, but works fine only think I haven't noticed is a way to turn it on or maybe just haven't figured it out yet don't mess with this remote that much.

I have owned a Shield for months now and controlled it via my Harmony Home. Thought I should get the remote to round out the system and get voice capabilities. I'm happy with my purchase but primarily use the Harmony to control the Shield.

Took 1 star off because I had to exchange because voice search didn't work.Replacement worked fine.This remote is very solid and well built.It's lay out is similar to fire tv remote with an apple tv remote build quality.

Remote seems to be sturdy and of good quality - not many buttons but it does have voice recognition. It is rechargeable but might prefer a throw away battery that lasts longer as the battery needs charging often,.

I bought it at first because I thought the $199 Nvidia Shield TV didn't come with a remote but it did! I like the remote so far but i'd rather have buttons for the volume rather than touch slider

After loosing the remote that came with the shield(pesky small remotes) I bought this one and I have to say it seems like it's a better built remote than the stock one

If you buy a shield TV, I highly recommend picking this up. It works great with the device and is a must when watching movies or just changing apps on the device itself.

If you have a parent or a grandparent who isnt updated with the latest tech, this remote will definitely make it easier for them to use the nvidia shield

This should be included in the box of the unit itself and not sold separately but other than that it works well as can be expected

I begrudgingly got this as a replacement for my first remote which over time has gotten worse and worse to the point where it can't understand anything I say and constantly detects phantom taps which have made it useless. The replacement remote is working fine but the price is still way too much for a thin remote that can't do anything that the included controller or the Android TV remote app can do. But if you just want to chill on the couch and not move anything but a thumb it will do.

With the Nvidia Shield, you really need this remote to maneuver through the applications. It's definitely easier than using the included controller.
