While the overall product works fine, it's exterior looks poor. I'm the type of person to consitentally clean my devices to ensure they are in the best condition, however when I cleaned the smudges off of it using a microfiber cloth, hundreds of noticeable scratches (some large and some small) began to appear.

Not only does it play games, you can stream movies also.

Been using it for IPTV. Great for the cord cutters out there.

I bought the Nvidia Shield TV gaming edition in July. In November, the remote died. I replaced the batteries and tried to relink it to the device but it is dead. Then it got worse. I spent hours waiting to reach customer support and then they insisted on a picture of the serial number from the original packaging before they would replace it. I supplied the customer receipt, the serial number, etc to prove I bought it but they say that isn't enough! Buyer beware!!! There are many complaints about faulty remotes on the internet and they do not honor their warranty!

Extremely disappointed in this device. I was happy user of the previous 2015 model, and naturally was thrilled to buy this new one. When I got it I was immediately unimpressed with the plastic, cheap garbage build, where they removed the charging port for the remote, the SD car slot, etc. It is cheap plastic that gets hot now, old one didn't, and I have now returned two of the remotes for not working. I am returning this and not buying another one. Shame on you Nvidia!!!

Everything else works ok.It needs improvement so it can work fast enough to make the kodi builds work good.We all use it for that.The Amazon fire tv Alexia works probably with Kodi.SHield works poorly with it.Still was having a hard time deciding if i should keep it or not.It does have good graphics.Nvidias shield has 3 gb and should be able to work good with Kodi builds.Which that sucks.It consumes more ram.Not good for kodi if it needs to keep up with everything.

this thing is always cracking on all kinds of apps i could be in the middle of a race in asphalt 8 and it will crash. i was almost close to the ifnish line and i lose all my credits and effort i made to win the race. stuff like this makes me want to smash the whole system and put it in the trash. the game pad remote half the time will not work. the surround sound dont work half the time. this has to be the worest system i had ever bought. it is not even 70 days old and it falls apart. if anybody ask me i'm going to tell them you sell total trash for a product. you are luck it is past the best buy return or this would be going back.

FIRST OF ALL, I read so much positive on this not good experience for me I tried 2 of them first one was glitchy second just very slow but even worse was the setup and overall use it is extremely complicated heavily menued and to side load or add your own apps games is very very lengthy. So complicated and first off you have to get a good one second you need to be very very high level in tech and computers to understand how to use alot of the features if you mainly want a high quality smart hub with lots of apps go apple tv regret not getting that over this.

After a year, controller giving an issue. The issue trending on Redit. Most of the issue occurs after shield update.

I owned many TV boxes over time and seen this one and all the good reviews I seen on it I thought it would be awesome. Boy was I wrong it's hard and time consuming to maneuver around. It got a poor picture compared to my android tv box. I download movies from kodi and APKs and this is a horrible box for media streaming . Save about a hundred bucks and get a nice TV box.

I have purchased 2 Nvidia Shield 16 gb. Both died after 15 months. Nvidia does not offer any possibility to repair. Would not recommend this product.
