works way better than a fire stick.... its like a fire stick on steroids

Works well for streaming, ok for games with a Gtx 1080 via GeForce app. Built in chromecast doesn’t work that well and is very temperamental, cast tab works most the time, cast desktop only worked once. If your worried about a few milliseconds of lag for gaming you’d be better off running a long hdmi to tv, as there is a little lag, but is reasonable for not being a hardcore gamer.

NVIDIA - SHIELD TV 16 GB Streaming Media Player is banging. It makes any and every television smart without a doubt. I installed weather app, Netflix, Hulu. You name it, it has it. Preferred better than fire stick. It streams and plays games.

This device is so powerful especially when you use GeForce Now to stream games from Nvidia’s servers. You can play at 4K steady 60fps and above. Great for watching Netflix, kodi, playing emulators such as dolphin.

I can't say enough great things about this device. I use it for streaming movies, playing games including emulators and roms from console video games. Even streaming directly from my tablet and phone is seamless and quick. Absolutely love it!

Great streaming media player,the interface is fast. It works as a Google Home device. If you have a Nvidia graphic card in your PC, you can stream your games too.

Excellent picture quality, performance, flexibility, and usability. Sure, $200 might seems steep, but you get a lot for the money if you use it for more than just a streaming box.

I purchased this device because it was suggested by a salesperson. I wanted to install Kodi on it and stream movies and sports events. I had 3 other streaming devices and none can compare to this. Easy to use and very fast. Top of the line.

Minor update to the original Shield TV. Much smaller but loses a few features such as micro sd. The SoC is still the same so performance would be the same. If you already have the original Shield TV there is really no reason at all to get this new version. You can just buy the new controller and remote if you need those. There are some WiFi issues with these Shield TV's but they usually work themselves out. I actually had to factory reset mine and that still didn't work. I waited a day and it eventually worked. Don't know what that was about but I'm not the only one with issues based on the threads on Nvidia's forums. I have a Google WiFi setup. The gaming aspects of this device is not bad but it's mostly for the GeForce Now streaming games which is exclusive to Shield TV (duh!). There aren't really any good Android TV games as most if not all are just the smartphone/tablet ones with support for the large screen and controller support. The new controller is way better than the previous one. At first, like everyone else, I felt the weird angles on the controller would make it uncomfortable but it's actually way more comfortable than the original controller. It's like a cross between the PS4 and Xbox One controllers. If all you're going to do is stream Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc then don't bother with this even though this is one of the few Android devices that is able to handle 4k content unless you can get this under $150 because at the current retail amount of $199, you better be a gamer.

It's the best and fasting streaming device out. No problems at all.

This Device can replace your Kodi box and it is so much smaller than a PC. Only drawback is the Remote is almost worthless, no Volume buttons Mute pause play. I replaced remote with Amazon Remote which was much better. If you want a Media player these are the best ones around. If you buy with game controller included you save quite a bit on that.

I would buy the nvidia shield again.. best video streamer for kodi

This box is super fast and works great. Would recommend to anyone.
