I purchased this device solely because of its outstanding functionality in playing downloaded videos as well as its unmatched streaming capabilities.It will play all popular file formats and will recognize memory devices using any file system; it will support multiple hard drives connected via a hub. The Fire TV player will not recognize NTFS drives and the Roku Ultra has audio playback limited to 5.1 Dolby or DTS. As for streaming, it supports 4K HDR, from VUDU, Amazon, Netflix, and Google Play. It is an android device so the whole Play Store is available; Google Assistant is on board to assist with Google Home devices. It has Chromecast built in. The video playback is superb, which is to be expected from Nvidia. It beats my other media players hands down.

I didn’t know what to expect when i purchased this item but after getting home and installing it i no longer use my fire tv box and if it wasn’t for directv now not being compatible with nvidia shield i would stop using my Apple TV as well.

I've owned a Nexus Player for some time and it has some drawbacks. By replacing it with the Shield all of my problems went away. Snappy performance. Emulators work perfectly. Skip the gamepad-less version and get it with the gamepad.

This is the best android tv I have ever had. Love the google assist.

Hooked to the TV fine, I used both the remote and controller with no issues. Still working on getting it to work with my stored moves but the steaming worked out of the box fine to a 1080P tv and to a 4k monitor.

Streams my gtx 1080ti desktop at 4k 60 fps with easy over my 250mbps home network and the Nvidia isn't even hard wired; WiFi performance is excellent and apps are snappy. Best set top box on the market period

I've owned several Android TV boxes, and many gaming consoles. This is by far the best set top box on the market, plus it has many other features and gaming options. Powerful and easy to use for those that aren't too tech savvy.

Been out over 3 years now. Still supporting updates. This has been the best Android TV box I have ever used. Take note this is for an advance user but it can do more and then even more. This product is fantastic.

I love the shield. just make sure you buy a really good flash card.

I fell in love with Android TV on my Sony 65" TV and wanted the Android TV experience on my projector and the Nvidia Shield does just that and works great! Haven't played games yet but look forward to doing it.

Amazing streaming quality in 4K HDR. Would not recommend for any kind of gaming though.

The Shield never dissapoints. It runs Android and it is a fast device. The only downside is that not the whole Android store is available when accessing it from this device, but you can sideload apps if you want.

This is one of the best purchases I ever made. Most smart tv interfaces are slow and clunky. If you use a shield instead, this is much more responsive and efficient. It also has gaming. Great stuff.

4K HDR super fast streamer built in WiFi android app and extremely customizable. Put whatever apps you like plus comes with remote and game controller which can also be used on a PC. Great picture quality! Awesome no regrets!

I've used my PS4 Pro, Xbox One, FireTV, and Roku. The Shield is by far my favorite. It's fast, very "snappy" and handles all the various streaming platforms like a champ. Very happy with the Shield.

Shield tv gaming edition is great for streaming media player with google assistant. Easy to use. No buffing when watch movies, menu are easy to used. I have enjoy this so much. thank you

I have tried a few different steaming devices and this one is the best by far. Navigation though the menus is quick and the picture is amazing.
