The NVidia Shield is the best unit to use for Kodi. I prefer the 16GB unit over the 500GB unit because it uses a SSD for storage. I have added an additional 250GB Samsung SSD and this provides all the storage space I need.

Great device comes with a controller and remote control, very fast, the only device so far that contain, sling tv, ps vue, and kodi all in one box, not to mention you could also download games, stream games online and from PC.

Look no further if you want the best, this is like comparing a nascar race car to a smart car if you want to compare it to those sticks people buy because they're cheap. Sure they work, but nothing special. Buy the shield.

There are a lot of Android TV boxes on the market, but this one has all the bells and whistles and is based on an extremely powerful NVIDIA chip set.

I am definitely late to the game. Even though I knew this was a great device and had read multiple reviews on it, there was always some reason why I did not pick one up. Well when I missed out on the Black Friday deals, I was determined not to make the same mistake again and pulled the trigger during the Best Buy 20 Days of Doorbusters. This device is very responsive, smooth UI, and extremely capable even after being on the market for a few years. It has received regular android updates and there is no reason to believe that will stop in the near future. If you can find a similar deal, jump on it ASAP and take full advantage. You won't be disappointed. My only regret is that I did not purchase this sooner!

Best streaming box out that is a legitimate android device. So if you have kodi and it gets outdated, the nvidia shield automatically updates it. Great for media servers as well as gaming. Comes with a controller and remote!

I’ve tried them all, and I’m currently using the NVIDIA Shield TV and Apple TV 4Ks throughout my house. The Apple TV 4Ks are great for seamless integration with my Apple ecosystem, but the NVIDIA shield TV has a much better games selection if you are looking for an all in one streaming/gaming system. Similarities (Highlights): - Very similar streaming options - Both offer 4K HDR support - Both have gaming controller options - Both offer smart home functionality - Both have smart remote with voice - Both work with my Apple products (Casting) Differences (Highlights): - Android vs IOS - Shield has USB support -Apple TV has more storage out of the box - Shield TV has a better gaming library

This is exactly what I wanted, not just a great Android TV box, but overall great entertainment hub. Great games and services. Some people would be held back by the price, but if you are on the fence, just get it. No regrets.

Would purchase again. Worth the money and it was on sale

I've used many different streaming devices over the years and, hands down, the Shield is the best of the bunch. Previously I've primarily used Linux or Windows based PCs as my main machine (as streaming sticks and other generic Android devices never seemed to cut it). Unfortunately, then you have to deal with updates and things randomly breaking... with the Shield everything just works. The GameStream and Steam streaming features are just icing on the cake. I currently have 2 of these and will likely buy a 3rd to replace my Xiaomi Mi box the next time they are on sale... it's that good.

This is an awesome piece of tech. It's blazing fast, has USB ports for expanded storage (even if android is finicky about it), and has access to most of the android library. I use wired connection, so I can't speak to the wireless performance. If you know the power, and limiltations, of android on TV, then you will be unbelievably pleased with this. Has replaced my Roku 3+, and diverted me from building a K O D I box with a Raspberry Pi. And as for Steam Link function, it's just not there yet. Got a SteamLink on sale, and this performs better. However, there is "just enough" latency to make fast-twitch games like Rocket League a no-go. It works for other games. And my network is all wired through gigabit switches, and my PC i'm streaming from is Core i5 with GTX 1060.

This turned out way better than I thought it would. I bought it on a whim and I use it everyday. You can stream steam games for free and but some Android games. It works great, you should get one.

got it on black Friday and don't want to return it back.

When my fiancee first bought it I was not sure how to navigate it but it's fairly easy and convenient. We bought a keyboard which makes it easy to navigate the internet. The voice command is the best.

This is the android box to have. It is the best I have tested and kept so far. It is fast and dependable. Games,music,movies,downloads,and streaming is fantastic. It cost more than the others ,but it is well worth it.
