I have been using google nexus, amazom fire TV's and Roku's for the past 4-5 years. They all have worked so i was a little shy to make the investment in this nvida shield. I really started seeing slow down using Kodi and other third pary apps so i decided to take the plunge and got a nice deal on the shield. 179 for controller version. I have been using for about a month and all i can say is i wish i had done it earlier. It contain all the best features from all the other devices i have had. Chromecast works great and amazon prime looks great. and it has two usb ports for storage and a keyboard.

I love my shield, definitely help cut the cable cord for good. So many functions to even mention, great n best streaming device ever.you won't be disapointed.

This unlocks so many more features with our 4k set-up, small size of unit makes it great to place anywhere, especially in entertainment centers. So glad we purchased it.

System works really well side load anything pretty much. No five starts because Nvidia changed its plans, all the games I have been playing for years are no longer available. Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, HBO Max all work amazingly well even over WiFi

I used to have a fully customized HTPC as the heart of my home theatre system. I had to downsize, and the Nvidia Shield was the BEST decision that I could have made. All of my content is easily accessible AND portable! Given that I have to move around a lot, that really is the best part - the flexibility to take my Shield with me anywhere, plug it in and have my home setup readily available anywhere that I am. The next step is to see how easily I can set it up to accommodate a rather large music collection.

this is great because it's much faster than a smart TV Elsa Place Netflix Hulu Amazon TV and whole bunch of other programs plus you can play video games

The Nvidia Shield Tv is one of the best android boxes made. You can play AAA games on it. The new remote is better than the old one because you can change the battery.

Got this as I migrate away from cable...easy to set up...easy to use...best experience I have had with a streaming device and I'm still learning about it.

It is a good TV box but I was disappointed about several items. I got it for 4K and HDR capability. The Netflix app supports 4K HDR10 but not Dolby Vision HDR. The YouTube app does not do HDR at all (as of 5/26/2017). The shield is an Android based box but a huge percentage of Android apps are not compatible with the shield (thegreatcoursesplus app for example). For photography there does not seem to be any support for jpeg2000 (.jp2 files) high bit depth color files. Regular jpegs have 8bit color but my OLED TV can support up to 12bit color. The shield has the hardware to support 12 bit color but no Android apps to display photos using 12 bit color (.jp2 file support).

I bought this as a way to stream the different services that I subscribe to and this thing is great. A little expensive but you get what you pay for!

It is good for what it was made for--which I believe mostly for gaming. I have not really used the game controller. If you do not have a smart TV & want something less expensive than an x-box or a play station this will do the job.

Dumb TVs are a thing of the past and I don't like that sort of thing. I am a strong believer in delegating to the people/things that do it best and when going for an all-in-one solution, you sacrifice quality of each component for convenience. Instead of buying the usual consumer grade Smart TV which skimps on every aspect of the TV to deliver a nice cheap all in one solution, I decided to piece together a TV that exceeds anything else in its class. Yes, in the end it was 3x more expensive, however nothing left to compromise. Anyway, if you're like me and want to "build" a better, smarter Smart TV, start with the Shield TV.

Great Android TV box. Better specs than any competitor out there. Everything is smooth and fast. Great for media consumption... haven't even tried the gaming aspects much.

This is my second Nvidia Shield. Smaller than the 2015 model I like the game controller better. The company updates both units and has made improvements.

I bought this to replace my firestick because i thought it was faster with less buffering...not the case

Best streaming device ever. Not the cheapest, but still worth every penny. The support community itself is worth it. Yea, this is a glorified Fredrick on steroids.

Best Android TV box on the market. Runs Netflix, YouTube TV many others great! Also can be used for playing games! (Emulated, Steam and Nvidia games)

Best cord cutting box on the market. If you have the budget for it get the pro but this one is the one I got an I'm extremely happy with it! Amazing for kodi, Netflix, etc.
