The horsepower of this thing is beyond anything else on the market. If this fits your specific needs I can't see any other better option. Less versatile (apps and support) than Amazon android based products but does common things much better.

I have had this ShieldTV a while now, and I will say I will never go back to using Roku. nVidia has even been updating it regularly, well past the time most device manufacturers do (usually 2 year cycles).

Good device and fun to use the gaming function. Pretty fast and does what it is designed for.

Plays many formats and is one of the few media devices available today, that truly passes HD audio (DTS-HD, X and Dolby TrueHD, Atmos). Plus it does a great job with true 4K video feeds. I am really impressed with the performance of the Shield.

If you like the plex media player then this is a great choice. The Nvidia Shield is capable of running a full Plex server on its own. I combined that with a WD My Cloud NAS to have access to a huge library of media from anywhere in the world.

I am an Amazon fire tv fan but this Nvidia shield is lots of media streamer for your money.

I have been wanting a streaming box that wasn't as limiting as a firestick. Yes you pay more, but for the specs, this little device can't be beat. I have plenty of apps and can play lots of games. This thing has me covered.

This is a great little streaming box. It doesn't drop signal very often, even with multiple devices running. Haven't done any gaming on it, but being Nvidia, and with the quality of the shows and movies we watch, I'm sure it's a great system.

Bought this with the intentions of being a plex server, it went above and beyond expectations. Connected an external drive and the rest is history. Best purchase I've made in a while.

This makes my older 65in run a lot smoother! We are happy with this product.

This is my second Nvidia Shield and it is just as amazing as the first although it is now half the size! The size is literally the only issue I have and that's because my HDMI cable keeps pushing the Nvidia around. No pun intended.

We are on our way to the future! This is amazing! Roku who? AppleTV what? If you have a hard connection and some internet speed, you are looking at some serious fun from a seriously sexy device. The controller is perfect too!

A really powerful item. We dropped our cable service and use this along with a HD Homerun for OTA service, Netflix and Plex We're also able to use PVR (DVR) capabilities. With the Google store we're able to access some pretty good apps too.

This is the best streaming box on the market hands down nothing even comes close.

I have tried them all, apple tv, fire stick, you name it. The Nvidia shield is by far the BEST streamer box money can buy. Excellent support from google and huge apk community to help customize the box how you want it.

This is the best experience I ever had with an internet streaming box. It's reliable and stylish- controller as well. My boys love the games included with it. I went ahead and bought another one when it was on sale.

1. Limited to google play applications and games. But performance is smooth in accessing apps 2. Can install only google games is Reduced one star 3. Software is old and performance with usb is less. These 2 factor reduced one star. Otherwise.. best Android tv and streaming is best. work for the mony.. comparing Apple tv. !!

It's one of the best Android boxes ever. But I do wish the app store would have a lot more apps then it does. The AC controller is an issue it's only made for Nvidia and only sold with the unit. No one sells the AC adapter, not even Nvidia. I wish that they will change this and be able to sell one.
