I had never seen this movie when I bought it. I did like it. Good effects. Made u think ability cloning humans and the implications. 4k is really good. This is a movie that u could watch a few times .i don’t buy movies in 4k if I don’t think I will watch it more than a few times .

This was a fine movie, not bad but not great either. Worth catching on a streaming platform, but not sure if anyone would have any interest in rewatching this movie.

The movie is a good watch. I used this to tweak and test my equipment and setup. There are better reference choices but it's a great Tom Cruise movie

More for men that would watch action movies not me all the time I like comedy too to much action

not a big tom cruise fan, this one was a bit out there but a nice twist at the end.

This movie is truly great until you get to the end.

You can say what you want about Tom Cruise but he does make entertaining movies. Oblivion is a bit of a miss, but still entertaining. Set in a post apocalypse dystopian earth, we follow cruise and his fellow teammate in keeping the energy machines safe. In reality there is a benelovence behind the machines and the story follows Cruise uncovering what is really going on. They story is a little bare, but it's worth a watch. The Blu-ray has reference picture and sound quality. If you a have a proper set-up prepare to be wowed by the technical aspects of the movie.

It's not a bad movie, but you'll get more out of it if you watch the Bonus Feature on how the Director wanted to frame it: he also wrote the graphic novel of it and wrote the screenplay. THEN it becomes interesting to watch the movie and see what the Director is talking about. Tom Cruise is fine, but his British teammate woman is unappealing. (Why wear a sheath dress, high heels and false eyelashes when there's just the 2 of you at a space station?) If you like SciFi, I think you'll like this movie.

The movie is enjoyable if you don't think about the logic behind it. If you do, there are so many plot holes that it starts to resemble Swiss cheese. Beautiful looking film that looks fabulous on UHD and sounds great. This film, though shot at 4k, was mastered at 2k and then upscaled from 2k to UHD for this UHD disc. It has HDR10 high dynamic range. Once again, it looks great, but would look even better if it came from a 4k master and was given Dolby Vision for high dynamic range.

Long story short, it's an okay movie that is worth watching every once in awhile. The Blu-ray does the Sci-fi scenery and action sequences justice. Without trying to reveal too much, if you overlook the numerous scientific inaccuracies (i.e. Loss of so much water each day, and still being able to maintain the atmosphere and oxygen levels...not likely) the movie isn't that bad. The little twists throughout keep the movie entertaining. I wouldn't go into this movie expecting too much. The plot is okay, and the character development is alright.

Although I've liked Tom Cruise movies of late, "Oblivion" felt a little lacking for my wife and me. The scenery and cinematography stole the show. The story did not have enough depth and came off like a "Twilight Zone" episode stretched to two hours. Morgan Freeman was sorely under used. Tom handled what was written for him but the cliche robotic characterization of the other characters and surroundings made it difficult to care what was going on. We've seen this before.

This movie is good for: Science Fiction, Post-Apocalypse, Tom Cruise fans Set on a devastated Earth, Tom Cruise plays the good soldier who, upon the revelation whose side he really should be supporting, turns on the system that he supported to save the world. Tall task for a very short man. Fun flick; LOVED the bubble ship (was my main draw to the movie); and just wanted to see another prediction of life after man destroys the planet.

Had not seen movie in theaters, which I am now glad we didn't go and pay the theater cost for two tickets. It was ok. I like sci-fi and usually Morgan Freeman is in movies that are good-but this seemed to lag and the overall story just didn't ever really pull me in I guess. But, that's the great thing about movies, there are always more and something for everyone! Obviously the blu ray version was crystal clear and amazing.

I bought for $7.50 but included a Fandango coupon for the same amount. So as far as I'm concerned I broke even, since I pre-purchase alot of movies I see in theaters through Fandango. As for the movie like the title says, it's a decent movie to rent. I watched it once and that's it. I don't see myself watching it again in all honesty. Also, if you like Tom Cruise than you'll like it.

Not Tom Cruise's best acting effort compared with MI series and Live, Die Repeat, but a better film on the smaller screen compared to watching in the theatre. The performances were flat and didn't allow the viewer to connect with the individual characters. Nothing novel about the theme since it has been done before. Mediocre film

Oblivion is a visually appealing science-fiction movie with an interesting and amusing plot. The acting is adequate with Tom Cruise giving a very "Tom Cruise" like performance. The action sequences are well done and the storyline twist to end the movie makes it worth watching to the end. I give it 3 out of 5 stars.

Tom Cruise can be hit or miss, but he always gives his all to the films he signs on to do. This one is no exception, as he delivers a solid performamance in this imaginative sci-fi flick. Not one of my all time favorites, but it delivers some great visuals and complicated mind games - very much worth checking out!

I'm not sure why this movie received such positive reviews after it first came out in theaters, other than Tom Cruise was in it ...so of course it was well acted...the plot itself was a bit of a let down...the reviews were two thumbs up, see it twice ...etc...I guess I just expected more than we were given...it just seemed like something was missing...

An excellent quality HDR 4k disk but a rather boring film made acceptable by Tom Cruise's appearance. I would not recommend buying the 4k disk. I would recommend renting this film and, should you enjoy it, upscale the normal blu-ray ray disk.

It's an alright movie, not one of Tom Cruise's best, but it was watchable. Decent action and story line, but I felt it just dragged a lot. This story had so much more potential, I feel that they went and decided to go the easy route. Still, its a near 2 hour escape from reality.
