I needed to have a recorder as part of my focus group work and it had to have the ability to be in a small room and capture at least 12 voices around that room and the recording was perfect. Even when folks were talking over top of each other it still had great clarity and easy to download onto my PC and share with my client. I would highly recommend as a work tool or fun capturing a family story.

After having my last three recorders stolen, I picked up the Olympus mainly because the reviews were positive and it was cheaper than the Sony models I picked up previously. I was already thinking about someone taking it. This turned out to be no downgrade. It works just as well as its competitor and was even easier to setup. The recordings are crystal clear, They're so good I use the to record department meetings that I then post online for the rest of my company to review. Don't let the low price scare you away. This recorder really does the job.

Olympus is a quality brand, and despite the low price of this audio recorder, it lives up to the Olympus reputation for high quality. The recorder has a solid feel and is easy to use. The sound quality of recordings is excellent, and audio files are easily transferred to Apple or Windows PCs using the supplied USB cable.

This is a very easy recorder. I like that you can start the unit right away by sliding the switch up without having to turn the recorder on first. that is a plus. over all great unit and easy to use.

I have used this recorder at a recent conference, and it performed great. It is easy to setup and playback files. It has enough storage to record long sessions. The built-in speaker is not the best, but it works for reviewing files.

I purchased my Olympus digital voice recorder about two months ago from the local Best Buy store. The modes and menus are fairly simple to learn but I'm still learning a little bit more about it every day. I've used it while driving on the highway, and it does have considerable background or wind noise. But it is still understandable. When sitting in a quiet environment the audio quality seems really good. A little larger speaker, of course could make the audio much better. Interesting to note, I have utilized the recorder to play back into the Dragon program. It works very well if you get the recorder speaker close to the microphone that you're using for the Dragon program. Quick for making notes, or short to do list. I sure do recommend it. Have only tested it out, we put the tv on and then recorded my daughter talking across the room. She spoke in a lecture style voice and even with the tv "noise" the recording was clear and could be understood. Controls are easy to understand and clearly marked.

I really like this device and what it can do is great. My only complaint so far is that when I am trying to record my thoughts... it won't let you press pause and continue again. It seems to only let you pause when playing the recording back.

More than adequate for a replacement mini-tape recorder.Small, easy to conceal, and pretty good at recording. But confusing instructions with tiny pictures and tiny print make this a little more complicated than necessary for us seniors. 5 stars for a young tech-inclined person, 3 stars for a non-tech senior citizen.

I bought it for my Cousin.She likes it and said it works real good.The right size and all.Good quality hearing when you playback what was recorded.Sounds clear and crisp.Perfect...
