Lasted only one charge
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I wanted to love this camera but it just didn't last . Did plenty research about waterproof cameras to take on a trip to Hawaii. I have a gopro but was hoping to find a camera that took better pictures and was waterproof. Loved that this had the ability to shoot in RAW and could change the aperture. The reviews on it where great too. But after one charge it would not turn on or charge up. The frustrating part is that we didn't get to use it underwater yet only on a boat. With new phones now becoming waterproof there is less of a use for this type camera unless they improve the image quality alot more. Thankfully I was able to return this one.

Had the older version. Reason for my purchase
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Just doesn't seem to be the same great camera. I wish I had had the time to wait for the Nikon underwater camera. Depth is to 100 ft, not 50ft like the Olympus. I have had issues with the Olympus of it freezing up and not responding. I'd like to return it and purchase the Nikon instead.

Worst camera that I've owned
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Cons: - Not drop-proof, as claimed - Poor usability - Mostly overexposed dull photos Pros: - Backlit scene selector I bought this camera because it was highly rated by Consumer Reports, my old camera had become unreliable, and the waterproof and drop-proof qualities were appealing. Six days into my 7-week trip, the camera fell out of my pocket and hit the ground. The monitor was cracked. So much for being drop-proof. Fortunately it continued to work (and in all fairness, a less rugged camera might not have). The camera has some really poor usability features. The zoom lever requires you to push and it is located next to the shutter button. I can't tell you how often I was trying to adjust the zoom and instead pressed the shutter. It was difficult to get the camera to the desired level of zoom. Canon cameras have much more intuitive zoom levers. In any case, this camera doesn't have much of a zoom. I missed many good photo opportunities as a result. The lens has no protective covering. This makes it prone to scratching. And if you're out in the rain or in humid conditions, you need a cloth to clean the lens. The wristband that comes with the camera is very thick. Once you attach it to the camera, the camera is hard to fit into a camera bag. Be sure to allow for this when you buy one. The camera provides no indication when the battery goes dead. The battery indicator might show a full battery and then a minute later you cannot start the camera, no message, no anything. I thought the camera was dead but I tried plugging in the charging cable and it lit up. (Note that it has a USB charging cable and this cable doesn't fit very well into the camera; it's easy to plug it in the wrong way and think it's plugged in.) The camera doesn't come with a separate charger. If you only have one battery, you really need to charge it every day; not the way to extend the battery life. The quality of the pictures is really disappointing. All the photos seem overexposed to me and the colors are not at all vibrant. Though some of the close-ups did turn out nice. Generally everything looked better on the camera monitor than on my computer. One thing that I liked about the camera was that it had a setting for backlit scenes. With this setting, the camera takes several photos and combines them to get a final photo that shows both the front and the back lit up. Unfortunately, the results were not reliable and like other photos, the results are not very vibrant. The camera might be good if you want to take underwater photos. I really regret buying this camera. My credit card company will cover the repair, but then this camera will probably sit in my drawer.

A little disappointed
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This camera is chunky so not easy to slip in a pocket. The pictures are not as crisp as my last "point and shoot" camera. For the price, I would not buy it again.

Not the best
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Used snorkeling 2 times while on vacation. While most of the pics under water while on the correct setting were good the screen and lense gets condensation built up inside the camera so it makes for foggy pics and near impossible to see the screen. I'm going to return it and just stick with my GoPro for all underwater pics and videos.
