Was great, but...
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This OMEN was sleek and fast, but we had an issue where the keyboard would stop working intermittently. HP Support was actually great to work with, but couldn't fix the issue so turned me over to Geek Squad. GS was also great to work with, but couldn't fix the issue, either. Also, HP pulled all of the similar units out of Best Buy's inventory... The store manager at my local Best Buy (Springfield, IL) was awesome - he gave me in store credit (full purchase price) toward a different brand of PC - even after almost 3 months. 5 stars for Support, 5 for Geek Squad, 5+ for the manager, but only 1 for my un-fixable unit.

Just ok
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Well learned a big lesson. This is not a bad gaming PC if you are your basic gamer and just want to jump in but with the money you throw down on this you can build a pc that's 10x better. I have learned from this mistake.

Omen desktop
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I originally bought the desktop with Gtx 2080 graphics card. Computer was running awesome for a few days. But something was up with it as it started to run extremely slow to where I can sign in. So I got this one in .will update

It's okay for basic stuff
||Posted . Owned for 1.5 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.CPU throttles a lot with it's cheap CPU cooler. Case has no intake fan or opening to take in fresh air, bottom has mesh but the case sits almost flush flat that no air gets in. Only has 1 92mm fan exhausting heat. GPU is HP custom version and has a cheap cooler, card gets really hot even with fan at 100%. Mechanical 1TB HDD is annoying, it's quiet then you hear it spin up, then quiet for a while then spin up again and I'm not doing anything but watching YT vids or something else that has nothing to do with that drive. Has TONS of HP bloatware.

Gamer/Work PC - AWESOME!!!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My old computer was starting to hiccup so after lots of research trying to figure out what the best bang for the buck was, I came across this nice machine. I work from home so this PC is my life-line. I do lots of MS Office and photoshop. I run multiple scripts on my photoshop for bulk image editing. Usually around 100-500 images each pop. I also run dual screens and usually have about 7 windows open at all times. Now, when work is over, I still use my PC to enjoy some gaming. FORTNITE! lots and lots of it. (just wanted to give an idea of what the computer is used for on an everyday basis) So now that you know what the computer is used for, lets talk about it. First off, I got a nice sale on this. It was $900 + I opted for 3 years protection with my BB card. Why? Cause I'm a firm believer with electronics that if something is gonna go wrong, it's gonna go within the first year... so I tacked on another 2 years just in case because BB's protection plan policy is GREAT if you ever do need to use it. (used for an xbox controller, got new one, no questions asked when it broke).... So, taking it home and unboxing was simple. I did have to purchase a HDMI to DVI adapter because I have older monitors and it was cheaper than DVI to DP adapter which is a bit expensive at BB. Anyhow, the set up was stupid easy. The mouse and keyboard that come with it, I looked at and never took it out of the box. They're pure crap. However, I use another keyboard with a corsair gaming mouse. That was all seamless. Had windows up and running within minutes. I then removed any software that comes pre-loaded that i did not want, then I installed all my software. I've done this many times on MANY PCs since my former job, I was IT support as well. One thing I noticed right away was the install times it took to install photoshop, MS Office etc... The install times were much faster than any computer I've ever had to install these things on. Was very happy. Then became the long process of exporting all my outlook emails/contacts and all that good stuff from my old i7-2700 PC. Took a while creating the export files (lots of emails), transferring to a flash drive and moving them to the new computer. Instantly I noticed extremely faster transfer rates.... USB 3.1 port is a gift from god as far as I'm concerned. So everything transferred faster to the new PC and everything got set up flawlessly. Very impressive. Then I got to tinker around a bit. The Omen Command Center is a very nice touch. It shows you exactly what the GPU, CPU & Memory are doing as well as your broadband connection up/down. Nice. It also has a nice feature that takes your wifi & wired connection, merges them together and balances your internet shared across both connections to you prioritize your bandwidth to where it needs it the most. It has increased my connection greatly. That's also where you control the whole color settings for inside and outside the case. I prefer purple. As for the work I do... I am able to multi-task like I've never been able to do before. I seriously have tried to bog down this PC just to see what it can handle. So far after about a month, I have not been able to bog it down 1 time. That includes running scripts, while several windows are open, and sometimes while running a game. It simply has not bogged down once. Now lets talk gaming. I don't do hardcore gaming unless you consider fortnite hardcore. When I installed it, it asked if I wanted fortnite to choose the best setting for my computer so I did. It chose all full Epic settings. My last computer I ran everything at all low settings and it ran great. Here I'm now on all epic settings and WOW, what a difference. I didn't know what I was missing out on. The quality of the picture is so much sharper. My render distance is far AF. Very smooth gameplay. It's like playing a whole new game. There's also a nice game stream feature in the Omen Command Center which I have not taken advantage of. (I don't stream). Bottom line is, if you're looking for a PC that is GREAT for gaming but is also GREAT for doing work also, look no further. No matter how hard I've pushed this computer, it produces great performance. Seriously GREAT PERFORMANCE. It stays cool, the tower is silent. Can't even tell it's on it's so quiet. It looks great too with the color schemes and the side look-thru window. Excellent for any in the MS Office Suite Excellent for photoshop & advanced photoshop Excellent for gaming (at least Fortnite on max settings) Excellent for multi-tasking I don't usually write reviews on things, however, I went to reviews for research and found many that were helpful so I figured I'd chime in. The computer comes with a nice i7-8700 processor, the GPU runs great, plenty of memory to allow multi-tasking and I can still double it if I want down the road. For $900, you can't go wrong. Many people say... "oh why don't you just build it yourself"... well, that fine if you're building an extreme hardcore gaming rig, but if you were to spec out prices for what this computer comes with out of the box, it'll be very hard to find a better price for the specs... then you have to put it all together so you're really not saving yourself anything except having to worry about wire management and if you did it right. Pros: Everything Cons: I have not found one yet Out of the box, and 10 minutes later you'll be off and running.

MORE FOR GAMERS
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED TO KNOW I SPENT OVER A $1,,000 DOLLARS FOR A COMPUTER THAT DOES NOT HAVE A CDROM DRIVE. I HAVE SO MANY PROGRAMS THAT ARE ON CD'S AND NOW CANNOT PUT THEM ON THE NEW COMPUTER.

Not bad for someone getting into PC gaming.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The pc is reliable. I’m not a fan of where HP cut corners. If you plan on upgrading the gpu, you’ll most likely need a new psu since it doesn’t support 6+2 pin connector.

Generic parts
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this for my son and I'm sure it would do just fine, but I worried about it lasting since some of the main components are generic. I returned it and decided to build the PC myself.

Great PC for gaming but mine is having issues.
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this computer about two months ago. I have used it a handful of times yet i have already experienced power issues. I've had to (three separate occasions) unplug the power cord in order for it to boot. I even got beeping one time. Other than the starting issues the PC works flawlessly and runs my games without issues. Heating is a major flaw as well. I am looking into upgrading the cooling but do not want to touch the internals before taking the pc back to customer service and attempt to exchange the product.

PC
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This PC is nice and fast for price. Only problem is after about 2 months of use. It’ll boot up and give me 3 continuous beeps. Until it restarts and boots up correctly
