Solid Gaming PC
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this HP Omen gaming PC after my iMac's video card went out. I was hesitant to switch from a Mac to PC, but after setting it up and testing everything, am very pleased with this PC. It boots in literally 5 or so seconds and has handled various games and multitasking with ease. I added a Corsair 120MM at the top of the case and plugged the 4 pin connector in the HD_FAN4 motherboard slot. It is located in the upper right hand corner of the MB. The fan works great and helps maintain cooler temps. The included keyboard and mouse are basic so I added a Corsair keyboard and Logitech mouse. Paired with my new Acer 27", I am so happy with the purchase and recommend to anyone!

Good PC!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I'm a game art student and I found this to match my needs perfectly. Setup was really easy save for just a couple of updates. Booted up extremely fast after that and I'm always able to get right to work a couple of seconds after I sit down. Can play games like Overwatch at high settings without any issues and I can run intensive programs like zbrush, maya, substance painter and photoshop like a dream. I LOVE the fact that I can hook up various displays and USB devices. The case is really aesthetic and spacious enough for my personal needs. Though it's cooling system could honestly use some improvement (Adding another fan might be in your best interest).

Its just OK
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not sure if the one I got was defective but it kept turning off after 2-3 hours of usage. Overall it was running pretty good! Very standard gaming pc. Not the best but GOOD for a start!

Great PC, just needs upgrades out of the box
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have been gaming for 30 years now. I have built several computers. My last on lasted me 14 years. Finally got tired and started to quit. So I decided to go with a prebuilt this time. Have always liked HP products. So I went with this one. Seemed to be the most bang for the buck. Our of the box it ran good for 15-20 minutes. Then started to shut off and restart. Did that a couple times then just gave up and wouldn't start any more. After tinkering for a few my diagnosis was PSU. HP felt it neccessary to put bare minimum power in this thing. 500 watts. Very disappointed. But I replaced it with a Corsair cx750 and it has run flawlessly since. Runs World of Warcraft on high settings great. Looks like a new game heh. Overall after, after the PSU upgrade, fantastic machine. Very glad I got it.

SO SMOOTH!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely adore this computer. It's sleek, runs smooth, and is VERY pretty (the colors for the logo and the side panel lighting color are also changeable, which isn't important to some but is kind of a cool feature). I cannot believe how quickly it opens games/browsers and how absolutely SEAMLESS everything is while playing or watching videos!

Excelcent PC and Upgradable
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Even though the i7-8700 CPU does not allow overclocking and GTX1060 only has only 3GB memory, this Black Friday deal was excellent. I was able to upgrade the desktop a little bit. - Replaced the Toshiba 256GB SSD with a Samsung 970 EVO 512GB NVMe M.2 - Installed a 6TB HDD in the free 3.5 bay - Installed two 120mm white LED case fans. I have to raise the case to create an air channel for the bottom fan Some cons: - The PSU does not provide more SATA power supply. I may replace it with a more powerful one when needed - The diameter of the rear case fan leaves limited choices if you need to replace it - No SD card reader. I installed an external one, but I prefer a built-in one - Two memory slots with one 16GB memory stick, so no dual channel unless installing another 16GB memory stick I am happy with the purchase at Best Buy.

Great computer but terrible placement of USB ports
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer is extremely snappy and works great. The biggest pitfall is the USB ports on the front of the machine. They are positioned so that you can't fit anything taller than a flash drive in. It was very disappointing to see this total oversight by the designers.

Its alright so far...
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Seems pretty powerful. I am using CAD/CAM without any noticeable lag. However, a week into usage and it is already barking at me when I turn it on. Not sure what is going on.

Wifi Fail
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.4 of 5 stars. Lost 1 star because I couldn't get the WI-Fi to connect with my wireless internet. It was the "connected, but no internet" error message. I know my wireless worked because my laptop connects, my cell phone connects and my kindle fire table connects. Just not the new Omen. so -1 star. I even turned off the wireless router and restarted it. Still no connection. THEN I had to hook up the Ethernet cable. THAT worked fine. Got internet through cable. But just NOT through wireless. I didn't want to fiddle about with 1 feature, I'll do it later to try to sort out the causes. Overall I got this Omen on a sale during this week. So great deal. Set up otherwise was fine. If you can get the wi-fi feature to hook up, then 5 stars for you.

Good for price, but software issues
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. If you look at the 1 star reviews you will notice people are having a few problems out of the gate with this PC. I experienced the keyboard not working after switching users, it will let you sign in but once you're signed in the keyboard will not respond. You can unplug and plug back in (I think that used to fix it) or restarting fixed the issue. I ended up scrapping the second user and sharing one user. ****However I was able to find the solution finally which is below : TDLR install a clean windows installation. Secondly, I also experienced the weird BIOS beeping which seemed to resolve itself eventually. I noticed that some of the connections inside the tower were not properly seated. I think I fiddled with that and that might have been the fix for this issue. Lastly, I experienced numerous issues with Windows update failing. It would say installing updates... updates could not be installed... undoing changes. This happened every time I turned off my computer. I got so fed up that I factory reset the PC several times - but these issues kept coming up. I wanted to return it. Then I thought maybe I should start with a CLEAN windows install (not factory reset because that comes with the drivers and HP programs already installed). I went to Microsoft's website and created a recovery USB. Once I installed a fresh Windows 10 without the bloatware, the PC started functioning correctly! I was able to switch users and the keyboard would continue to work, I was also able to install updates without failing. In conclusion, I wish this setup had been better thought out and would work out of the box, instead of having to do all this trouble shooting to just get it working properly.

Great gaming pc. thanks best buy and hp. :)
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just bought this pc and I have installed a terabyte of games on it from arc, origin, steam and ubisoft. all games work great at highest graphics settings and boinc works great too. It runs a bit warm, but I took oof the glass cover by pressing a button on back of pc and temperatures of cpu and gpu cooled off about 10 degrees celsius so I will leave the glass cover off. :)

Good to Bad
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This pc has ran great since i got it until now. After owning this pc for 4 months now it has been giving me beep codes. Bringing it to Best Buy to find out what is wrong, it booted up fine at Best Buy. Thinking it was just a fluke bringing it back home, it didn’t boot up at all, giving me the same beep codes. As of being an actually brand new pc i have no idea what is wrong w/ it. I have tried every outlet in my house but the HP Omen is still giving me the 3 long and 3 short beeps.

Amazing
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a very good PC for around $900 (if you get it on sale). The cooling is OK it never thermal throttles even under heavy load. But you can easily put another 120mm fan on top.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.it is really good but you need a wifi adapter or an ethernet cable before you get it because the computer's wifi taker is crap
