Customers are saying
Customers consistently note the excellent performance and quiet operation of the OMEN Obelisk Gaming Desktop. Many appreciate its attractive case design and the relatively affordable price, especially during sales. However, some users express concerns regarding the cooling system, GPU performance, and the adequacy of the power supply. The limited RAM is also a point of contention for some buyers.

Amazing computer, needs CPU cooler upgrade
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's an awesome coumputer. But if you plan on running under heavy load. Get a better heatsink and a program to change the fan curve for the GPU

Fair machine for a 1500$ price tag
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First of all having a RTX 2080 installed, with MSRP more than half of the total price, is a blast! The downside is the following: 1- Cooling system is not liquid. 2- CPU is 8700 (non K). 3- Overclocking is not supported. 4- GPU is identical to a ZOTAC 2080 blower (single fan) style. 5- PSU is 500 W which seems to be inadequate considering there's a 2080 in there for goodness' sake (hp tried really hard to get a Bronze in EPEAT Level). 6- There's only 1 exhaust fan. I got it a few days ago and had no major problem with it. When using on max setting, CPU and GPU hit 85° C which is pretty darn hot! Although the fans max on rpm but they're quiet. It comes with 1x16 GB, 2666 MHz HyperX Fury (Kingstone) RAM and there's only 1 more free slot for an additional RAM. The design is simple but beautiful. I'm using a 144Hz FULLHD monitor and had no aforementioned beeping issue-yet. The bottom line is this is a desirable machine for a 1500 $ [Black Friday] price tag. If you have a 2K budget, you'd be better off building one on your own. P.S. the single fan Blower style GPU blows the hot air out of the tower directly which comes to help considering there's only one exhaust fan installed.

Is there anything not to like?
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Okay, you should upgrade the ram to 32, you should add a cooling fan if you're going to be heavy gaming. But. For the price ($1500) VS the Specs - if you don't have time to build your own - this one works very well, and still leaves room for some inexpensive upgrades to make incremental improvements. On a side note, I was very pleased to see that HP has REALLY pared down the bloat ware they shove onto the system.

Bad Graphics Card RTX2080 installed from factory.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Order Date: 11/24/2018 ORDER # BBY01-805588284261 I purchased this desktop for use in day trading stocks. I use the computer for emails, and web forums alone other than that. There is no game use, it's in an open space, and it's kept clean and dusted. Since it was new, the graphics card installed in this computer would crash and result in error messages. I called Best buy, they suggested I remove the card and reinstall it in the computer. This stopped the error messages, but the screen would crash and turn solid black once every few weeks over the past year. I would restart the desktop, and it would be ok again for a while. Now I'm just 1 month outside of warranty, and the computer has seen very little use since it's always been a problem I didn't have time to take it in for service. All of the text on the screen now has red and blue fringing, making it nearly impossible to read without severe eye fatigue. This is all from the failing graphics card. I contacted NVIDIA who said HP manufactored this card, that it is NOT an NVIDIA graphics card as it it listed as on the BestBuy website. This is misleading, because NVIDIA products carry a 3 year replacement warranty. They refused to warranty or replace my failed graphics card which by the way is over $900 to buy another one. Considering this computer is now a clearance item at $1,399 does it really make sense to buy a $900 graphics card when I can buy an entirely new desktop with a 1 year warranty for $1,400? No. This is completely unfair, and I will be sure to share this experience with my 6 million followers on social media as well if nobody intends to correct this issue by replacing this defective graphics card with a new one. One star is all I can give on this product as when you spend this kind of money on a computer, you expect the hardware to last more than 1 year!

Nice unit for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far this PC has handled everything I've thrown at it well. I play games like WoW, ESO, and FF14 and it handles the ultra settings well. I enjoy being able to play with the lights it gives off, though that is only a minor detail but still nice not being stuck with a single color or no color coming from the tower.

My favourite purchase of thanksgiving 2018
||Posted . Owned for 11 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is an amazing pc. I love gaming on this one, the glass panel provides a beautiful look to the pc. Haven’t had any overheating issues or any latency issues on this pc. I have been using an ethernet cable for the internet connection, you will experience some latency issues on wireless.

Do not buy
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I never write reviews but I thought I should warn others about this PC. Worst computer ever. First one lasted 2 days of gaming then blue screen error read "critical error dead", return and exchanged it . Second one had an audio jack malfunction right out of the box, geek squad told us to return it so we did. We thought we try one more time. Third one lasted maybe 2 days of gaming then same as the first one blue screen error read "critical error dead". This was a Christmas gift for my son. We are hoping to have better luck with a different brand.

Surprisingly great computer!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This computer replaces a custom-built $8,000 video editing computer that finally reached its end. For the money, the Omen is scary fast with the latest processing power and great components. Plus, my local Best Buy had it in stock for less than HP.com. Highly recommend this for power users. My only reservation is that it has limited slots for HHD expansion.
