Customers consistently note the excellent performance and quiet operation of the OMEN Obelisk Gaming Desktop. Many appreciate its attractive case design and the relatively affordable price, especially during sales. However, some users express concerns regarding the cooling system, GPU performance, and the adequacy of the power supply. The limited RAM is also a point of contention for some buyers.

Great machine at an awesome price

Got it on Black Friday deal, the machine is solid and price is great for this config with RTX 2080, tested it across various PC games, Oculus Virtual Reality, software coding and web development with angular, .net, C#, SQL, machine/deep learning in Python with CUDA and Keras.
Ran multiple apps at the same time, didn't have any issues so far.
You won't get any beeps as long the display is turned on, tested it on my monitor and on the 4K TV without any issues.

Crashed/Artifacts on the screen

I haven't had the system in my home for more than 3 days and I've been updating everything from Windows to Steam and no matter the game I get issues with gaming. I've followed numerous forums about clean installation of my drivers, editing the registry, using DDU (in safe mode as well) to rollback to the right drivers, and a plethora of other games; but it doesn't matter what it is whether an app through the Microsoft store as small as ROBLOX to as heavy as Metro Exodus that comes with the tower. This morning I turned on the computer and I saw artifacts all over the screen. It's corrected itself several times but each time I've done a restart on the computer at the home screen it shows artifacts. I am using a 75 inch Samsung 4K tv and I've swapped between a Vizio 42 inch tv, a Viotek 49 in Ultrawide display, and a Dell 21 inch monitor for testing and I have the same issues. There are artifacts around the edge of the screen and at one time the whole screen looked like a checker board.
I've done lots of research on the error that I've been seeing in most of my games regarding DX12 stating that the graphics card has been removed. I have not opened the case to do anything except put a higher powered PSU inside to help with the RTX 2080's power requirements. I cannot understand why the graphics card is stating that it's been removed other than that Nvidia has broken their drivers lately. And to top it off here I am staring at the OMEN logo as the computer resets because on startup it has crashed twice.

I purchased my HP Omen during a Black Friday sale. Within in a week the system was toast. I’ve seen numerous issues with the bad power supply from other users, I fell victim to the same hardware issues. AVOID this unit.

High rate of crashes

I had the same problem with the beeps, but upon reading other reviews, was able to fix that problem with no issue. However, that was the least of my worries. As with everyone else, crashes became common place. I would fire up PUBG and by the second game it would crash so hard that you couldn't even Ctrl-alt-delete. It would eventually just reboot itself. My recommendation: Look elsewhere. If HP can't build a reliable computer, then just go find something else.

A swing and a miss

I purchased this from my local Best Buy on black friday. I was initially happy with it and performance was living up to expectations. Unfortunately this was short lived. Within a week I started experiencing white screens/black screens and crashing when gaming. This continued to evolve into artifacts appearing on my display and my system hard locking. HP customer support has been nonexistent. It is apparent that HP skimped on hardware quality in an attempt to be competitive with the DIY crowd. In conclusion, just build your own.

Very Mediocre

I bought this computer when it was on sale on Black Friday in 2019. This computer worked very well for about 6 months, when all of a sudden, I could no longer handle Ultra settings on a game like Rainbow Six Siege. Although I did connect another monitor, this shouldn't of been an issue with a card like the 2080. If you consider this as an option, please, please consider building your own pc with all of the same components as these. You can save hundreds of dollars.

Do not recommend. Have sent back 2 times.

I had to send this machine back two times for repair. Still waiting to receive back the second time. Both times the problem seemed to be a video issue, but I think there is an underlying issue causing the video card to go faulty. When the video card goes bad, both times it displayed broken lines across the screen both on boot up and in Windows. Getting an RMA was a bad experience dealing with outsourced personnel that did not speak English clearly. The representative had me move the desktop to other room to troubleshoot on a different monitor. Test my current monitor with laptop that I have. I received back the first time and it only worked about 1.5-2 hours before crapping out again. To get second RMA, I had to repeat the whole process over again of dragging desktop around to monitor in other room.

I wrote a whole essay on why I didn't like this pc and wasn't allowed to submit because it has "inappropriate language." Even though I edited the bad parts it still was not enough. Just know that this pc is trash in my opinion.

I purchased this during Black Friday at $500 off and I think I know why it was so heavily discounted now. The computer started slow and didn't perform as well as if hoped in the first few months.bid constantly be updating drivers, but there would just be a decent amount of lag on all games. Now it's May and the computer has been slowly deteriorating into constant shutdowns and crashes. I spoke with an HP support assistant and they updated my BIOS. It worked great for almost a day and then crashed again.
I've put together my last PC and it's not that hard to get the build right, especially for a larger company. HP really messed up on this one and I'm just sad for anyone else that also purchased one of these lemons.

I bought this computer for the "early black friday event" I received it on November 23rd I was super hyped after having to return 2 separate Alienware R7's for having mad issues, anyways I hook the Hp and got the same beeps....I then return it and got a replacement on the November 24th just to have the same problem again you would think buying a pre-built would be less headaches and more convenient with someone with not alot of time on their hands instead of just building one......it's not rocket science if someone is buying a 1500.00 pre-built it's probably for the convenience factor which this is not

Had to return it two hours after I bought it. Got it hooked up and was greeted by a series or error code beeps. Never made it further than that. The store manager was friendly, and the return process was smooth, otherwise a frustrating experience.
Save yourself the hassle and shop for a different brand from a different retailer.

I bought this PC about 2 weeks ago for sim racing, it crashed after 10 days of usage. I brought it back yesterday to change it or repair it and the geek squad from best buy adviced me to switch to an Ibuypower unit which more reliable and well made. they seem to have a lot of issues with this product, i really don't recommand it.

Graphics Issues

Be warned. See the other 1 star reviews here. The GPU issues are real.
I was so excited to get a great deal on this as an open box. Much less excited when literally any game I tried to launch resulted in the system hanging on a black screen. A clean driver install did not help.
At least I discovered the problem on day one. Back it goes tomorrow.
