Customers are saying

Customers consistently note the excellent performance and quiet operation of the OMEN Obelisk Gaming Desktop. Many appreciate its attractive case design and the relatively affordable price, especially during sales. However, some users express concerns regarding the cooling system, GPU performance, and the adequacy of the power supply. The limited RAM is also a point of contention for some buyers.

Purchased this on sale after doing research for 4 months. I compared prebuilt systems to building my own prices and the prebuilt was never able to come close in value until this beauty went on sale. I found it on sale for $1200 and immediately purchased and I’m so glad I did. It has a RTX 2080 that purchased alone costs 700-900 and a i7 8700 that will set you back another 400. Those 2 alone pretty much equal the entire system price I paid and you still have to purchase the rest of the components. As for performance I am more than satisfied. I downloaded the 3 free games that came with it and have pretty much been stuck on Battlefield 5 causing me to get very far behind on my honey-do list lol. I’ve played around 7 different AAA titles so far on ultra settings on my 75” 4K uhd tv and the experience has been simply amazing. This thing blows my PS4 pro and my Xbox 1x outta the water in both graphics and smoothness. I haven’t had any problems with loud fan noises or throttle issues like others have stated but I do have it raised off a hard wood floor slightly using 2 old wooden rulers that happened to be laying around. I highly recommend purchasing if your looking at getting the most bang for your buck.

I was able to get this beast for a little under 1400. Only thing is it will get hot when you play some games. Fortunately I play fortnite and it stays pretty cool around 78-80c. Will run almost any game on 240 fps on low or medium settings. It is also upgradable friendly. Would highly recommend getting a bigger blower.

Good computer so far no issues but the power supply could definitely be better 500w leaves alot to be desired, liquid cooling would also be nice but since it comes with a standard 8700 not 8700k it doesn't get too hot but these are more things that feel overlooked... And the sound card has no optical ports so its not friendly for certain gaming headsets but overall I think the black Friday price was worth it

For the first time in over a decade I made the decision to buy instead of build a PC. At first, I did not know what to expect. However, I have been very satisfied with this purchase. This rig is powerful, priced right, quiet, and better than I expected from an off the shelf PC purchase.

This computer was brought on cyber Monday- looking like a steal at 1.6k compared to the now 2k price tag, but with that came some serious flaws, starting from the inside out. It's new 2080 graphics card, while superb and great at rendering/running almost anything you could want overheats way faster than you would think, and this isn't helped by the fact that the case and fans lead for very weak airflow/circulation. Its case is very closed off with minimal grill-like pieces along edges and one small fan on the outside to bring air in, and another fan of the same type inside weakly blowing air onto the i7 processor, the airflow as said above is weak and pathetic. Now given I was playing for 8-10 hrs at a time, perhaps this computer was not made for such long active gaming periods, so perhaps it is for those that play casually with gaps between to do other things to let the gpu cool down. The massive glass panel can be removed and even replaced with something to help airflow/direction, but it is a serious issue with the quickly heating gpu. If you are looking for a long period gaming pc, get something with much better cooling and the good old trusty rtx 1080 for a promising time while playing.

This computer has all the features I needed for peak gaming performance. It's not loud and comes with a built in wireless card. The 2080 packs a punch. Long term life of the system is questionable because but overall out of the box it's a great machine.

For an out of the box computer this is a great buy. I am not a gamer but I do handle multiple streams of video. I record up to 4 channels of OTA HD TV at one time while having 2 or 3 people watching recorded HD TV. This is my second OMEN of this type and I would buy again. Some people complain about the system running hot but under an Intel processor Testing program my system was at 70C at 100% load while running at 4.56Mhz (Boost Speed) on core number 1. Intel rates my processor at 105C max before it starts to throttle back. I put an additional case fan in play for a test and it made no difference. My computers run 24/7. 0% Load runs about 39C and 20% Load runs about 56C with the room Temperature at 80F. There is a place in the top of the case to mount a 120mm Fan/Liquid Cooler. There are 4 knock outs square that allow the fan access to the slotted case top.

Max Gaming at a solid price! Very attractive case with a builder's sensibilities in mind. I've never been much for the LED lighting, but it is configurable to the CPU/GPU temp, which is a good way to know things are running cool. It may just be my home, but the wifi intermittently drops then reconnects, so I took out a star.

I got this machine, and run some handbrake with it, the CPU got to 86 degrees real fast, and the stock cooler is just not good enough, I checked some video, you have to remove the motherboard to install other coolers or water cooler, cause you need to install back plate under the motherboard. Then there is the risk of motherboard not working after that. Pro: good price for i7 and 2080, single 16 gb ram, one open ram slot for upgrade con: no second M2 slot, stock cooler.

overall im happy as it came stock but the GPU recommends 650w this unit only comes w 500w PSU & venting is a serious issue I can get up to 85+ Celsius. after adding liquid cooler, 2x 2tb ssd, additional stick of 16gb ram, and upgraded PSU I'm still trying to sneak a fan in there somewhere bc the temps.

it's been about a month. temps usually get to the mid 80s on both cpu and gpu. i believe one time they jumped to 90 while playing csgo. but for the most part the temps are on the higher side but stable. it was on sale for 1299.00 but i dont think i would have paid much more than that for what it is.

I use it for watching videos, maybe playing a mmo and a video but when i do cpu temp reaches near 80C and gpu gets pretty hot aswell. I would've built my own but i figured i'd get this for a started pc. The stock CPU fan i hear is pretty bad. And it only has like 2 others so not alot of cooldown.

I love the size of this tower, not over bulky! It’s a great gaming comp and it’s reached my expectations, I only gave 4 stars since I did run into an issue with the first one, it kept beeping and shutting off after having it only a few days. Best Buy was great and exchanged it for a completely new one.

So far so good. A bit of a glitch starting, but once all systems were operational it is going smooth. Buy a gaming keyboard as well as a remote mouse (also gaming) that way you have many cables and have ample keyboard space. Good selection.

I bought it during BF and use it to replace a 3 year old unit. Mainly a video editing platform. It’s easily 10 times faster rendering than the other computer.

Well put together. Runs quiet and I had no junk to uninstall. The mouse and keyboard that are included are junk but the rest of the system is pretty good quality. It would have been nice if there was documentation for the graphics card included.

When I first bought the system I kept getting boot up errors about CMOS corruption. I almost returned the system because of this. I did some digging and found it a CMOS upgrade that fixed the problem, which related to detecting my Displayport monitor. It was annoying not to get a working system out of the box. Since then it has been reliable. Some reviews complain of noise but it seems quite quiet to me. I would give it 5 stars if the system could be expanded but all of the slots are taken. I did add a second hard drive and that went well. I would also like some manual control of the fans but none of the software I have does that.

Works great. I've had this for over a year now and it works wonderfully for the games that I like to play. It even plays the new Cyberpunk 2077 game and it looks great. For other reference, I've also played the sims 3 (all expansions) and it's still a little laggy at times, but I think it works and looks the best it can for an EA game from 2009. The only real complaint I have is the cheap cpu fan they put in here and the fact that it's literally impossible to switch cases if you want to take the power supply too. They put it together with rivets so you can't get the power supply out at all. I mean, it's a pretty great computer though, if you dont intend to transfer cases.

Excellent build quality and screaming fast PC. The PC itself is more than enough for today’s gaming requirements. You’ll probably want to replace the thin keyboard that comes with it.
