Okay Bond movie
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I did not think this was a very good Bond Film, but I like James Bond Films, and I have a collection. So good or bad you have to have it to complete the collection.

Dated
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Did not remember this James Bond movie...only portrailal by an Australian. It's old, dated and boring...watched half of it and had to turn it off.

Nobody Does it Better
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Amazing that so many actors have inhabited the character, but he is still unmistakably Bond. Lazenby's one off is not bad. For an Australian model, he does his best stepping into Connery's shoes. A bit groovily dated - but the fight scenes are somewhat realistic; gadgetry is a minimum; the obligatory chase scenes (skis!) are still exciting; and Diana Rigg is luscious in her prime. And ... the love story (such as it is) is surprisingly touching. You can almost believe Bond would walk away from Her Majesty's Secret Service.. I think Bloefeld is one of the lesser Bond villains in this one, and the movie does take a while to pick up momentum. The BD Transfer is excellent though, and the original soundtrack has been mastered nicely into a Dolby 5.1 track, so action scenes have a bit of oomph. Nice vocal by Louis Armstrong as well ... Recommended for completists; sure to disappoint the new generation of Bond viewers though.

Great for Bond fans and movie collectors
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Although I already own the 50 Years of Bond boxset, I couldn't pass this up. The steelbook is beautiful, and the digital copy was a great addition. If you are a movie collector, like myself, it's an easy buy. But if you already own the BluRay, the disc is the exact one from the 50 Years of Bond boxset. I love this item, but if you're looking for new special features, and new disc art, it's not there. I would recommend this item to a movie collector, someone that doesn't already own the film, and to those looking for cool art work with a digital copy (It's roughly the same price as a pure digital copy on iTunes, Vudu, Flixster, etc.)

Enjoyable Bond change of pace
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It takes a little getting used to if you watched the Sean Connery Bonds as this is the first movie without him. It could make you overlook the fact that it is a really interesting story and in other respects, true to its heritage. There is a big event in this one but of course, I won't include spoiler material. Diana Rigg is well cast as the Bond girl. George Lazenby as Bond is the adjustment part. Hard to tell how he would have been accepted as JB since this was his only outing in the role. Perhaps if Sean Connery had played his role, it might have been a 5 star for me.

Worthy Bond
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. On Her Majesty's Secret Service has been called underrated for so long that it's probably now properly rated. The film is at least as good as the lesser Connery films and much better than most of the Moore/Dalton/Brosnan ones. Definitely a top 10 Bond film for me. Lazenby isn't Olivier but he doesn't get in the way of the story. Rigg is good as would be expected. Picture and sound quality are very good.

Good Bond movie, bad Lazenby acting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE is the first James Bond movie without Sean Connery who was replaced by Australian model George Lazenby. Fittingly, it was Lazenby's last Bond movie. Lazenby was either fired or quit---the producers said he was fired, and Lazenby said he quit. The wooden Lazenby detracts from the very good script and supporting cast of Bond Girl Diana Rigg (THE AVENGERS) and Bond villain Ernst Stavro Blofeld played by Telly Savalas (KOJAK, THE DIRTY DOZEN, KELLY'S HEROES). The score by John Barry is considered the best of the Bond movies and features the love theme "We Have All the Time in the World" sung by a dying Louis Armstrong. The Blu-ray video quality and special features are very good like the all of the Bond Blu-rays.

Classic Bond
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Coming off the heels of Sean Connery's role, George Lazenby's one shot at Bond is a bit different. It's still suave and action filled but it has a little more heart.

Lazenby's Bond for the Bond Collector
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This would be a 5 star review if EON had supplied the digital code with this blu ray. Other than that this is a fantastic buy for the James Bond collector.

Must Buy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is one of the most underrated James Bond movies to date. The case looks excellent. Lazenby is a one-movie Bond but he could have played in many others.
