Onkyo is hard to beat

Plenty of HDMI connections. Supports Apple AirPlay, huge for iPhone and Mac users. Supports secondary audio source for playback in a separate room from the main source. This item replaced a failed 10 year old Onkyo receiver. What a difference a decade makes in functionality and capability.

Great but....
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have a TX-NR616 and I couldn't get zone 2 to work the the speakers outside, using an apple device. I picked this up because it was able to use air play for zone 2. Although it works, the service is spotty and it takes 10-15 minutes to setup every time you want to use it!! So if your having a party and want to use those outdoor speakers... plan to set this up first for a good 10-15 minutes. Otherwise it is a great replacement for the TX-NR-616. Luckily that was under repair warranty by Onkyo.

It's a decent follow up to 607Im

I was so disappointed that it's hard to find parts to repair. I shopped for something comparable and the Best Buy rep said this one was it. However, I connected line for line and the output is not as good as the predecessor. The cost was in the same ballpark but quality is not equal. I'm settling for now. I wish I could have the old SR607 back working.
