Average unit Bad remote

Sometimes it works sometimes it takes multiple button pushes to make it work. The cd changer is kind of clunky when changing to a different disc. I would say this is a average value at the $199 price point.

Bought and returned twice

I understand that the manual said it may have trouble reading home-burned CDs, but it wouldn't read ANY CDs -- not store bought, burned CDs, new, old, nothing. Very disappointed as I had always heard positive things about Onkyo home stereo equipment and was looking forward to owning one. I bought an open-box unit, brought it home, and didn't work. I returned it to the store and customer service was very helpful and allowed me to trade my open-box unit for a new unit. Got it home and had the same problem. Then I returned the Onkyo unit to the store, and had customer service order me a more expensive Yamaha CDC-600. That unit works perfectly. Plays every single disc that the Onkyo unit will not. Will never buy another Onkyo product.
