fine piece of equipment- glad to play my CD's again

Does what I want it to. Lets me enjoy the audio CDs i have accumulated over the years.

Excellent multi-disk CD player. My unit is playing thru a Bose Cinemate Series II sound system. While I initially got inconsistent results using RCA cables, I now have excellent results using an optical cable feed. I wish to thank the Best Buy and Bose technical staffs for helping to sort this out.

This a good basic player. My main concern was the lack of hookup options. It only has RCA plugs to hook up to your receiver. No HDMI options.

Onkyo is a great upstanding brand and this product works great.

Works fine, until it finds a bad disk. When it hits a bad spot, it goes to 'track 99' and locks up. It really limits the number of discs in my collection are playable.

Purchased this in October, 2014 from Best Buy but used it only sporadically. Recently started using it on a regular basis and bought some new CDs. The older CDs play fine but the new ones do not. Portions of the new CDs sound 'scratchy' - always the same portions. Played detective and a cleaner CD to no avail. Called Onkyo and although the rep was nice, he had no idea what the problem might be other than to guess that there is some newer formatting or mastering that the player does not work with - he was no help.

Nowhere online or in the manuals is there troubleshooting for a Mechanical Error in the display of the DX-C390 CD changer. We spent hours attempting to correct the problem, thinking we may have missed a connection, etc. When I finally got through to ONKYO support I was told it is a fault within the machine. So hours of inconvenience, not to mention having to return this item, save your money and buy Sony.

After reading the reviews we made the 140 mile drive from rural NE to the nearest Best Buy. Bought our "boat anchor" and drove home. This unit was DOA out of the box. Standby light came on and thats all that worked. Each time we tried to open the carousel "Mech Error" appeared on the display. So...called Tech Support. "Unplug it" he said, wait 1 min and try again. Humm, "Mech Error", "Mech Error" Sorry Man, was his last advice, you can take it to a service center (270 miles away) or back to the store (140 miles away) Onkyo is junk, spend you money on a better unit. It is very easy for CDs to shift position causing the draw to lock close with the display "mech error" No where in the instruction book does it explain how to fix this. It took about an hour to solve this issue.

Purchased this product just over a year ago. Used the player a handful of times (mostly during the holidays to listen to Christmas music CDs) and the player started cutting out or skipping. Was told by customer support we would have to send the player in for repairs. Completely unacceptable to have to wait who knows how long to ship the product in for repairs and wait and not be able to play CDs. Very dissatisfied and will not buy any product from this company again.

I bought an opened box. There is a disc stuck in the changer.The Geek quad doesn't handle it,they said to send it to the manufacturer. This was supposedly checked by the Geek Squad before re-selling it and given a clean bill of health. Obviously, someone lied.

Went to Best Buy for the Sony 5 disc player, but they were sold out. Got talked into the "Onkyo" 6 disc player for the same price. Got it home and hooked it up to the Sony receiver without any problems. But as soon as I loaded it with some CDs, it would not recognize anything in certain locations, wouldn't play or even load CD information, i.e. track numbers or CD total time. Tried "random" selection and it played two songs before it froze up. Now I know why I never heard of "Onkyo". Returning the unit in exchange for the Sony model I originally wanted.

The CD player did not contain the remote and frequently does not function properly

Had problems from day one with the CD player. Would not read disc 1 and would often not read any disc #. Turning it on and off sometimes solved the problem, sometimes not. Since I didn't use it every day, the "15 day return period" expired and now I have to ship it back to Onkyo at my expense. Apparently there have been many complaints about this unit, so do your research before buying one. And the best buy return policy is pretty much worthless.

The player doesn’t play well. Sound is distorted. Tested cd,s on other player and played well. So problem is the player.
