||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The only thing that's keeping me from rating this at 1-star is that it actually was a good receiver... when it worked. The main problems I had with this receiver: the screen blacked out for a few seconds here and there, and even froze on occasion. Most likely an HDMI problem. Onkyo receivers were known for HDMI problems in the past, but I thought newer receivers didn't suffer from it. The receiver also did not allow sound over HDMI from my Samsung BluRay player... I had to use a coaxial cable for the sound. It allowed sound over HDMI for Dish, Apple TV, and PS4. No big deal, but one of the reasons for buying a new receiver was to use HDMI for everything and not use more cables than I need to. I tried switching different HDMI cables and different inputs, but the problems were always there. What a pain to have the screen black out while playing on the PS4. Or how annoying to watch a movie on Apple TV and have the screen freeze. I returned it and tried another unit, and the same problems persisted, so I returned that one as well. I decided to spend a little more money for a more reliable brand, and I purchased the Yamaha RX-V681, and absolutely love it.

Great HDMI receiver for the money

This is hooked up with Cable, Blue Ray,and 2 computers hooked to a 70"4k Vizio monitor and every thing is working great. Like how I can listen to the radio and video signal still goes thru to use as pc monitor. I also can listen to my records again, turntable hookups are great!
