Customers are saying

Customers are satisfied with the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth capabilities of the TX 5.2-Ch. 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through HDR Compatible A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's price and the range of features it offers, including 4K support and ample inputs. While some found the size to be a bit large, and a few experienced issues with bass and volume, the positive feedback on sound and ease of use outweighs these concerns. The setup process was also generally praised for its simplicity.

Onkyo being around for years, they make good products like Sony. This can hook up to 6 speakers, & blue tooth.. I always like the Japanese brand better, they are better quality.

I use this for my music only right now. I have it hooked up to my in ceiling speaker system in my basement in all the rooms and have a sub hooked up in the living room. Sounds awesome good power. With the way it sounds with the music I know it will sound and work great for home theater. It has all the hook ups and with Onkyo you can't go wrong. Also this is a good receiver on a budget. I bought mine on sale for $200. Great set up and good power.

After 6 years I finally replaced my Yamaha receiver with this. It was basic to setup if you understand receivers, has plenty of hdmi ports and is Bluetooth! Love it! Very happy!

I mainly bought this so I could make full use of my new TV's 4K functionality. For that reason it has worked quite well. The difference in clarity was noticed immediately. Setup was quick and painless since I was only swapping out receivers from my Onkyo home theatre in a box system. I give it 4 stars because there's still some fine tuning to be done and I'm not sure if it's the TV, the receiver or just settings.

Could be me but this receiver seems under powered compaired to my 7 year old Yamaha receiver. None the less I have yet to pair it with decent speakers and am hoping that is where the issue lies. So far has worked as advertised. All connections work. I have Satellite, and a Sony streaming blue ray player and both HDMI connections work properly. Played around a little with the blue tooth and all devices I tried pared properly and played with the Onkyo receiver. Still playing with it but appears OK so far.

Due to an unfortunate lightning strike I had to replace my 6 year old Onkyo receiver. The newer model has more hdmi inputs, 4k pass thru and an easy to use setup manual and interface. This is my third Onkyo in the past 15 years, they all have performed well and never needed repair. I only change receivers every 7-8 years to try to keep up with changing standards and features

Great Product for a simple 5.2 entertainment system. Produces clear sound and for an affordable price. Is not the top of the line by any means but gets the job done in style worlds better than a standard TV speaker. Wish the size was a little smaller and compact for what you get, but no complaints otherwise.

Has all the good stuff for less money. 4K HDR, several HDMI inputs, bluetooth, calibration and easy setup. Perfect for me since I only need a 5.1 setup. Retired my 10 year old Onkyo receiver that still works fine, just had no HDMI inputs. Onkyo simply makes great receivers.

I finally upgraded my tube TV to a new flat screen, so I needed up update my receiver to be HDMI compatible. I was able to use my old JVC speakers with ease, and the sound is great! The receiver is easy to use and has plenty HDMI ports for video game consoles and other fun. I was even able to hook up a VCR!

First, I should say that I am not an audiophile. When my old receiver stopped working, I just wanted something to connect my video devices to my stereo speakers, as in 2 speakers. I'll add some surround speakers eventually. I also wanted to switch between three HDMI inputs while only running a single cable up to the monitor. This receiver did the job. It has a microphone that you position in your seating location and it automatically sets up and balances the speakers. (In my case, only 2, but still a nice feature.) When I plugged in a Roku, the sound was echoing. Without even looking at the manual, I just pressed a couple of random buttons on the remote, and the sound corrected itself. Be aware that this is a huge box. I suspect it's mostly empty inside, although it is quite heavy. If you have the space, it's great. It does everything I wanted. I'm quite happy with it.

Please note that I'm not an audiophile nor am I an expert on home theater. I'm currently using this because I have a 5.1 surround sound system and 3 devices using HDMI with a Smart TV that only has 2 HDMI ports. I'm currently using this for my Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and Chromecast. All 3 devices (plus the TV) plug into this. It was east plugging in my 3 HDMI Devices into my TV with the 1 HDMI connection. I don't have to change inputs on my TV anymore, but the receiver needs me to manually change the inputs. I highly recommending getting a Logitech Harmony remote in addition to this system to remove the need to have a TV remove, and receiver remote.

As good as many receivers costing twice as much. Plenty of power for all channels. Ability to automatically tune system to suit room is a big plus. Bluetooth is a good feature. Very reasonable price made this receiver too good to pass on. Very satisfied.

This receiver did exactly what I wanted it to do and more. My 30 yr old CD changer attached to my 40 yr old speakers make beautiful music throughout. I didn't expect my wireless subwoofer attached to a Vizio soundbar to start playing my music too as the receiver is not attached to the tv! When that bass rolled across my floor both my dogs and I spun around in surprise. I actually grinned.
