Great receiver for basic household needs. Easy to switch input options and so easy to install.

Great sound with onkyo speakers. It has many inputs and various settings for sound settings.

We had just upgraded our home theatre with a new 4K projector and completely failed to take into account the Yamaha receiver we were using as an HDMI passthrough for all of our media components did not support 4K/ HDMI 2.2 requirements for copyright protection. We read reviews and went with this Onkyo and are very happy with it. The included microphone for auto-tuning the system based on the acoustics of the room resulted in really great 5.1 sound right out of the box! The Dolby Atmos also sounds fantastic compared to our 6 year old Yamaha with Dolby Pro Logic. My only complaint is that we had to spend quite some time on Google to figure out why our media devices were saying they couldn't play 4K at 60 HZ in HDR. Come to find out via a thread on Reditt, there's a standard and enhanced HDMI mode on this receiver. To enable the 4K @ 60HZ with HDR, you have to have the receiver powered off. Then, hold down the BD/DVD button and press the power button on the receiver twice. This will enable "enhanced HDMI" mode which supports the higher refresh rate 4k signal with HDR. Really the only complaint with this receiver. This should have been simple and easy to find in the setup menu, but it was not.

Took a little bit to get how to set it up but once I got to the right input, setup was easy

Great amplifier have it a year work perfect great sound it mske you feel like you are in a theater if you are watching tv .4k movie .pandora .or any off the other apps .so easy to use so easy the hook up .would tell everyone to buy it .

Nice receiver for the price. Didn't get 5 stars cause of volume. Have to turn it up to at least 40 to even start hearing it. I've read that others had same problem. Dolby Atmos is nice. Have Amazon fire stick that supports atmos. Im using regular speakers so would sound better with upward atmos speakers like i have with my samsung atmos soundbar..All in all, happy with it. Easy to set up. Love all the hdmi ports for additional stuff. I have my cable box, dvd player, and firestick hooked up.

For the price point, this is a great reciever. It has clear sound, easy to use controls, and well marked connections in the back making it relatively easy to setup and connect.

Needed to upgrade to 4K receiver from Onkyo 5.1 non 4K. Quick set up and great sound.

Receiver was simple and straightforward to hook up. Operation is also easy, much easier than the unit I was replacing. Sound is excellent, very clear with good separation.

I've never really had a newer receiver before. I've used it a few times and it's been great. I have a projector linked to the HDMI out connector and Roku going in. Sound and picture have been great, easily for the price.
