All good except setting up second speakers for different sound - not able to set up without calling manufacturer.

I've had this receiver for a couple of weeks now and am very happy at this point. It was available at a bargain price of $199, a great deal considering that it supports the newest sound formats of Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. This AVR replaces a Yamaha with failing HDMI ports and so far this unit has been flawless. I am not an audiophile and use this for DVD's or streaming movies 99% of the time. For me the picture and sound quality is just fine, outstanding fr the price in my opinion. The remote could be a little nicer but it works fine so what the heck. If this receiver holds up better than the Yamaha did it will be a great purchase. Good job Onkyo!

on sale item, works as advertised. there is a pause with sound for about a second or two when playing video with ATMOS compatibility

Bought this receiver for the bedroom to augment my new Visio tv. Works great with the tv, and Firestick. Great sound, and features. i highly recommend it.

We had upgraded our TV a couple of years back and it has the 4K system on it before it was available to stream. We just wanted a receiver that would drive our Bose Acoustimass 7 speaker system and supply the 4K to the TV. We purchased an Onkyo receiver along with the Bose speaker system and was happy with it and knew what to expect with this receiver. This receiver had everything that we needed to hook up what we have at a good price. So far we have noticed an improvement in the picture quality and sound. We are very satisfied with out purchase of this Onkyo receiver.

A quality 5 channel receiver. Good separation of channels, easy to operate and great sound through my Bose speaker setup.

Perfect pairing for my new TCL 4K UHD from BB. This unit replaced a 27 yr old Sony Dolby Surround 5.1 receiver. I compared this TX-SR393 to 2 other major brands and this was the only one that has actual volume settings for EACH speaker / channel. Movie dialog can be a problem with surround sound systems. This unit allows full control to raise the center channel and tamp down the front channel. Initial setup via the HDMI is easy. If you use optical link, the front unit display is adequate for settings. Then you can walk through the various settings to adjust to your room — I’m a recording engineer and like to do this manually (it does have the auto-sensing mic). This is the only unit of the 3 I reviewed that has quick treble, dialog and bass touch controls on the front of the unit AND on the remote! The other 2 competitors were far too complicated. After spending a lifetime reading tech manuals, I didn’t want to do that to watch a movie in 5.1. I’m running Polk Audio 8″ 2-way bookshelves in front and ceiling mounted JBL satellites for center and rear rolled off <200Hz. No sub-woof. The Polks have plenty of boom. Our living room is very large and this unit runs about 50%-65% volume for movie viewing. Plenty of headroom. If you're a purist, there is a "Direct" setting that bypasses all of the enhancements to pass signals "as produced" when in good ol' 2ch Stereo mode for your turntable or CD player (no internal TT preamp). Best bang for the buck in this $ range.

Replaced my old receiver(Kenwood) with this Onkyo and the quality is great and love the bass. The set-up was a snap, and it was ready in minutes. Glad I purchased it.

I used this receiver for music. Sounds amazing with my KEF Q150s. The only drawback is that there is no phono input.

WORKING JUST FINE. WOULD HAVE LIKED THE ABILITY TO USE FEWER REMOTE CONTROLS AND HAVE ACTIVITIES SHOWN ON TV SCREEN. WE ARE LEARNING TO LIKE IT.

A very nice upgrade from the old receiver that we had. Not sure why the volume has to be turned way up for listening to vinyl. Otherwise, great.

So far so good. Sounds good, easy to use features. User friendly remote is much easier than their older ones.

Purchased an 8k projector and I needed something for the sound and new speakers so I purchased this and I have no complaints. Great for the price and works amazingly.

Good product for the money. Good power to speakers. No connection to internet available so it feels slightly outdated. Setup is easy if you follow prompts on tv

Has all the updates you need in a receiver. 4K, Dolby Atmos, HDR, multiple inputs for multiple devices. Easy setup for anyone. Remote easy to use as well.

I bought this receiver to replace my nearly 20 year old Onkyo receiver. I could not be happier with the purchase. The receiver has breathed new life into my equally old Bose Acoustimass 15 speakers. I'm very pleased with my purchase. Surround sound is excellent!

Overall, was easy to set up and connect to five units. Downloaded the manual for help. Easy to use remote. Good sound and easy to change settings .

I bought this as an upgrade from my old non-hdmi capable receiver. It works as expected and was easy to setup. 2 thumbs up.
