Great Unit..Instructions were not great
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Love the convenience of a surround sound system rather than the surround sound I used for years through DVD type devices. Makes connecting anything to your TV easy - not having to go behind the TV every time you want something. Also like that it has an audio out so I can attach additional speakers. Unit is a bit oversized - would prefer if it was a little more streamlined but I guess based on what is in it - the manufacturers had to make it the size it is. Setup instructions included were not very helpful and confusing - they crammed all different languages with little verbal explanation - almost like Onkyo assumed you knew what you were doing. It required going online to get the full users manual. The full users manual still was less than complete. I had to look up a lot of the terms they used online. Took me a while to figure it out (and I'm an Technology Specialist).

Good value for money
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Exactly what I was looking for - relatively basic system to replace my 18 year old Onkyo system that died. Has plenty of features an connections for any use case other than a true home theater room. Caught it on sale and in stock at Best Buy so really couldn't beat it.

Surprisingly Impressed.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was hesitant to buy this stereo receiver given I was not familiar with the brand name. To my surprise it worked very well and was easy to set up. It replaced my 22 year old Sony stereo receiver and I couldn’t be happier.

excellent quality
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. My four year old unit from Yamaha quit so I bought this unit. It by far is superior in features with a great remote that controls everything I have from Dish Network, Roku, Blue Rays, turn table and more. The sound output is excellent. Although it doesn't have an equalizer, it still has enough control to give it great sound. The 4K picture that goes through it is perfect. The set up is easy to do and gives great results in speaker position. Overall, I am very happy that my other unit stopped working as this is a perfect home theater receiver set up.

The Best Receiver for the price
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Dolby Atmos at this price is amazing. Sound is fantastic. Everything works as advertised. You don't have to spend a fortune to get a AV Receiver. This replaced my 10-year-old Yamaha. The two-year warranty is another bonus

Nice and Cheap
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Better than I thought, sounds good once you set it up correctly. I used my speakers from the Surround System in a Box I got years ago that died but the sub didn't work as it has to be a powered one. Got a Polk audio 100w powered sub, tuned everything using the mic and it sounds great.

Great entry-level machine
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I had to replace my old Onkyo receiver. Painless set up and I was able to connect multiple devices easily! The body is sleek and the components have a good quality sturdiness about them. Has an average number of inputs but works for my set up. Excited to test out Dolby atmos on it!

Outstanding choice!
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Excellent quality. I am impressed with the design look as well. It is quite an improvement from my older Onkyo, and am quite pleased with this new upgrade. Best choice for the money and quality combined.

Excellent, affordable basic Dolby Atmos receiver
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To make our A/V components consistent we purchased two of these units to upgrade our living room and bedroom surround sound. Hookup is easy and reliable for those who don't need non-standard connections for older equipment. If your peripherals use HDMI this device is a very good choice. Power is a little weak for large rooms or a noisy environment, so you often have to have the volume up past 50%, but it drives all of our speakers very well with great signal-to-noise range. Plenty of inputs, and the remote and on-screen setup are intuitive for the average user. You can spend a lot more on a receiver and not get much improvement in quality. Onkyo still provides the best overall value in my experience.
