Great starter receiver for the money

Me myself i went to the advances settings and set each speaker the way i want it. YESSSS! At first i let the set-up mic do it and i wasnt impressed. But now.YESSSSS!

Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.This receiver works fine for my needs however it is disconcerting spring clips with tiny openings are used for the center and rear channels instead of banana plugs like my failed Onkyo receiver had. I have pretty fat speaker wires and it was very difficult to insert then into the small holes while holding the spring clip open. The front channel speakers have banana plugs which of course are much easier to just plug in when hooking up your speakers. In fact I had to remove 6 banana plugs from my center and rear channels in order to hook them up to this receiver. It also has a pretty primitive on screen menu system, not as good as my older previous 7:1 Onkyo receiver.

Entry level

I wish I would have gone up a few steps to get more features that pushes the 4K and sound more. I have to have system on 60/80 to get much output. Older versions only needed around 35-40/80. Pass through you lose HDR ability beware of that. So gaming and movie quality are impacted.

Dont get if you want to use a firestick

Went through the long install and when using the firestick the picture and sound went in and out. We though it was the cord so drove back into town to get a new one. It wasnt the cord. We plugged firestick into the game port and it worked fine. Just figured it was a bad port. Went and purchased another receiver to switch them out and same thing happened. Receiver seems fine other than that and it works as we have it but it isnt right. Dont really want to start all over again.

Geek Squad was awesome

He even gave me credit for an HDMI cable that was too short and subsituted a 12' cable for the same price as a 6' cable. I strongly recommend Geek Squad. Thank you Chris.
