Right but wrong for me
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I like this and the price is right. Unfortunately for me more hardware was needed in order to make the surround sound speakers throughout the house and outside work correctly.

Meh Sound and a problem out of the box
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sounded good, but didn't have an exciting sound. Kind of bland, seemed a little underpowered. I did like that the remote had some adjustment controls that more expensive receivers do not. Some things are just easier to deal with, without an on-screen menu. Bought it new. Out of the box the output transformer was humming. The hum also was distributed through the subwoofer outputs. Returned this until within 72hrs per Onkyo's tech support recommendation. Bummer, I really like my Onkyo 9010, but this model was a dud.

Budget receiver. Budget performance.
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have to constantly run the initial setup to make any function work properly. Triple checked all the wire connections and tried speakers on another receiver to figure out the issue is with this one. Would not recommend.

Hook up not clear, sound choices are ugh.
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Hook up not clear online as to hooking up without tv. Sound choices are crap. Volume is low. But guess you get what you pay for because price was very low.

Junk
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. After 12 months slowly but surely every hdmi port has failed. I remember and still have an onkyo from 1998. Still works great no issues. Here we are 20 yrs later blown through 16 receivers that were brand new. Yes 16 of these. All junk starting from their $200 to their $1000+ receivers. ALL BROKEN. 1000’s of dollars in product gone in the trash! Honestly bestbuy and onkyo should favor us long time customers but instead there is a 10 day to 6 week repair window. Everyone knows replacing an HDMI board inside a receiver is more expensive than a new unit. So why not save us all time and wasted money to just replace it immediately with a proper receiver same price even swap? NOPE of course not. My advice don’t buy from people who don’t stand behind their products 100% or have the general knowledge on cost repairs and replacement.

The Sony at a similar price point is a better buy
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall, average. It claims 4K HDR support, but you have to put it into a special mode for it to work, ran for almost a year before figuring that out.

Did not work out for me.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Kind of middling for my use coming from owning a Sony AVR. Instructions for 4K pass through is non existent as had to look up online find out how to make it work.
