Customers are saying

Customers are enthusiastic about the sound quality, ease of use, and Bluetooth connectivity of the TX 7.2-Ch. Hi-Res Network-Ready 4K Ultra HD and 3D Pass-Through A/V Home Theater Receiver. Many also appreciate the receiver's powerful performance and the extensive features it offers at its price point. However, some users experienced issues with the volume level requiring higher settings to achieve satisfactory sound, and others reported difficulties with the ARC functionality. The receiver's size was also noted as a potential drawback by a few customers.

Easy to use made my speakers sound amazing. I like using zone two for my patio. My kids can watch TV in the family room while I’m listening to my Pandora station on the patio

Onkyo doesn't disappoint and this one sets the bar for the other manufacturers. Lots of HHDM inputs, phone inputs, HDR Passthrough, smooth sound, crisp highs, mellow midrange, serious bass. Got fantastic help from the Geek squad in Oxnard. If I needed it I would buy another just like it. Has many features only found on the very expensive high end models. You can't beat the performance for the price. Thanks Best Buy

I bought this reciever to pair with a Bose surround sound system that was in a home I recently purchased. Sounds great and controls all of my devices. Set up was simple great buy.

This receiver was suggested due to features, power and price. Hadn't researched this model but looked like a great deal. Hooked it up and it sounded good but then began to cut out when listening to TV. After checking it appeared the HDMI ARC input was cutting in and out or not passing sound. Research shows that was a reported issue so returned.

I was going to buy the newer model but decided that I would give this one a chance first. So happy I did. The sound is great and it’s very easy to set up and get running.

The receiver works very well for what it is as a midrange 7.2 reciever that is now aging out so is very competitively priced (as of this review.) We still occasionally use an original Wii with component video output, so I was limited in my receive choices as many models no longer have component input. However, I have been disappointed in the Onkyo app as it has very limited functionality and requires a lot of clicks. Strangely, there is much less control over the sound modes on this receiver than on my 4 year old Onkyo, and no way at all to change the listening mode from the the app. Not a bad purchase, but not blowing me away either.

Easy to set up. Simplified my whole system. The sound quality is better than from my last Sony receiver. The speaker calibration took a few minutes, but it worked great.

Easy set up. Great sound with 5.1 system. Had blown HDMI port in TV and this allows me to pass everything to the one remaining. Holding back one star until some passage of time.

I like that I can change Inputs by using my phone instead of looking for the remote. Also any remote that I use which is connected via HDMI I can use to change the volume. I have used Spotify and that seems to work quite well. Early on in the first week or so I did have an issue with the tuner shutting down and when I powered it back on it would indicate a speaker wire problem but after updating to the latest software release for the tuner and playing around with speaker balance I have not had that issue for about 1 month now. Over all after about 1 month of use I think that it is an excellent tuner.

Bought this system during the Thanks giving sales. Just got it unboxed couple of days ago and It's pretty good one and my earlier doubts on its quality proved wrong. For the two to three hundred dollar range of similar products, this one delivers decent quality and definitely scores higher points. A small glitch I found is with the iniitial set up, which it took lot of time, otherwise it is 5 star ! But once it is done, rest is nice and I am happy with the purchase.

Denon is supposedly a very good brand, but not user friendly, and the display went out after 1 yr. Onkyo is very user friendly and has so many features.

This is our second Onkyo receiver. The only reason we are not still using our original one, is we finally upgraded everything to digital. The connections are labeled clearly for each and every component you could possibly want to add to your system. No guessing as to what Component is 1 or 2 or 3, it is all labeled clearly as to what is what. This works seamlessly with our new QLED Samsung TV and Blue Ray player. One remote handles it all and the sound system set up in just a few minutes and everything works together. No hassles and no confusion. Great for us older folks!! We love it.
