Purchased to replace an older receiver. This one provided more digital inputs and outputs. The automatic speaker balancing feature really enables the unit to get the most out of the speakers that you have. Independent control and sourcing for the second zone are an improvement over the "B speaker" arrangement I had before.

We brought this as a on back up for our Sony but once we hooked it up the Sony became a back up .

I upgraded my onkyo tx sr608 receiver and I am very happy with this receiver the Dolby atmos sounds great it has plenty of power.

works with all of our devices, cable box, apple TV, and samsung TV, sound quality is great, especially with Dolby, price was good

Does well the job. It is easy to connect and calibrate for Dolby atoms. It self explanatory speakers arrangement is a plus

I haven't really used this yet, except to turn it on. however, it seems to have all the hookups needed and several hdmi ports.

Great entry level receiver. Great sound with non-powered existing in wall speakers, with WIFI, and very easy connectivity.

I dont usually write reviews, but my disappointment in this receiver has forced me to share my opinion. When the receiver is working properly, it produces very good sound quality. The setup and menus are easy to use, and does a pretty good job of setting up the speakers. I've got 2 big issues with it. The first, there are terrible handshake problems with my PS4 Pro playing anything in HDR. Picture cuts out randomly for several seconds at a time. I've owned this receiver for less then a year, and just discovered that one of the atmos channels is not putting out sound any longer. I emailed Onkyo about the issue, since it is under warranty, and have not heard anything back from them at all. All in all, I have been very dissatisfied with this unit. I wish I would have gone with a Denon for a little more money. Stay away from onkyo. Spend the extra money for a better brand and quality receiver.
