This receiver is the best receiver I have ever owned. I have had several over the last 50 years. And I have been wanting to hook up my phonograph and this unit has plug ins for it. I have a stylus on order now and when I get that in I am looking forward to hearing my records for the first time in the last 30 years

Easy set up and ito sounds amazingly clear and crisp

I heard enough negatives like it generates an excessive amount of heat, so in a cabinet, it's not a good match. I upgraded to a DENON receiver.

I replaced an old system with this receiver as the centerpiece and it’s really great. The only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars is that it doesn’t allow me to send audio from a digital input (i.e. my AppleTV) to Zone 2. I’ve since learned that that function is usually only available on higher-priced units. I found a workaround using airplay.

Perfect for the home, very easy to use and plug and play

Nice option for small room with mid-range speakers. Doesn’t drive as hard as my last Onkyo ;-( Enjoy the on-screen-menu and configuration options. Loads of features makes it easy choice for bedroom or main room.

I've had this installed now for a couple of weeks and for the most part it works great. Every once in a great while, after turning the device on with ARC, we have sound but no video, but that seems to have dissipated with the latest firmware patches.

The problems started two months after I purchased this receiver. Any time I change input sources I lose all sound. This can last anywhere from two to fifteen minutes. It doesn't matter what source I am coming from or going to, what input I am using, or what input type is being used (both HDMI and Optical fail equally). Even the test tones in the setup menu are silent at first, but then out of the blue they will suddenly kick on (of course the receiver goes silent again after exiting the setup menu). Once in a while turning the power off and then on can get the receiver working again, but rarely. Since the problem started it has become harder and harder to get the sound to come back (eventually I can get it working again either by rapidly cycling through sources or sound modes, or just waiting for it to start working again on its own). Next, only two weeks after the initial problem began, the CEC function has failed completely. All previously detected devices are no longer seen by the receiver. Since ARC will not work without CEC, the ARC from my brand new Samsung Quantum is completely useless. After meeting with the Geek Squad it was determined that something has failed inside the receiver and I will now have to wait for three weeks for this brand-new device to be either repaired or replaced. TL:DR Less than three months and my receiver is broken and basically useless.

Easy to set up and works great. Plenty of hdmi ports.

Was a headache to get to work right. It took me two days before it started working the whay is supposed to. My problem was the arc setting wasn’t working and had to set tv accessories and receiver just right for it to work. Becide that it sounds pretty good

An awesome mid-budget receiver that decodes all of the latest object based sound platforms. Dolby Vision and HDR10 passthrough as well. In addition, AirPlay 2 compatibility just became standard with the latest firmware update. This receiver will is perfect for a home theater on a budget.
