Bought it for future proof, 8k but mainly because it has Bluetooth transmitter so I can connect Bluetooth headphones. Tried to connect it but it doesn’t stay connected, always disconnect after 10-20 seconds. Other than that there are no major differences between this unit and the one I use right now TX-NR555. Also the price suppose to be $499 when onkyo announced it. Because of chip shortage they increased the price to $599. Honestly it’s not worth the price to upgrade so I returned it.

The connection quality in the back pannel could be better (like banana connector) I loved the integration with Google assistant, but it’s not yet capable to turn-off the receiver

Excellent receiver- Once set up it performs well with WF and AM and FM radio. Can control with my smart phone as well.

AVOID. HDMI board failed within a year. Best Buy was ZERO help and just passed me on to ONKYO who wasn't much better. They wanted me to send in the unit at my expense to get repaired at a shop over 4 hours away. So I will be without my unit for weeks and also fronting the money until they decide if warranty will cover it or not. Best Buy should have taken my unit back, given me a new one and sent my broken unit into ONKYO. That is how customer service used to be.

Was looking for a dual zone receiver and this fit our needs. Wish there was an option to play different channels in different zones but the functions this came with are great.

Works for the most part except you will drive yourself crazy on certain games that switch resolution, vrr and etc. the screen usually cuts out and you have to change input on the receiver and back to get the video to come back on.

The young man who installed this item did a good job, except he did not adjust the sound. So I had to have another man come a week later so I could hear the voices of my recordings,

Great for Movies from apps. When watching movies or programs from Networks, the sound increases extensively during commercials.

I wish it would have a knob for the sub to control sub bass

Bought this product and geek squad came to install it and let me know that my setup would be better with a wireless system. i returned this receiver and purchased the wireless system.

Excellent receiver, the OS is great and extremely easy to set up. Haven’t had any issues and sounds great.

This was part of a $4,000 plus home theater purchase. The receiver might have been overkill. I'm feeling as if it is overpriced.

Reason for purchase was 4k and dolby atmos, didnt not disappoint. Much better picture with 4k projector and dolby sound makes movie night so much fun

Works good, but cuts out when using surround with the tv. I just disconnected the one cord and it stopped cutting out.

Solid product. Happy with it so far. Have had to restart it a few times when I couldn't connect it to my phone.

Just got it,but so far so good. Only complaint is there's no place to hook up passive subwoofers. only active subs can be used.

Surprised that I did not like this unit. I had an Onkyo for 20 years and loved it until it expired. Replaced it with this one but could not get it to work with my TV. and the Record player did not work with Line input even with the preamp I have. Not sure why. I returned this unit and purchased the Pioneer and it is exceptional.
