    GREAT BUT RETHINKING HANDSETS

We bought the system with two handsets, the system works great and was easy to set up but I would suggest saving the money and buying just the device without the handsets, they are kind of crumby.

They're aight. We keep them as a backup

TL;DR we bought it as a backup and have never used it except to listen to spam voicemails. My wife and I have cell phones only, but since our cell reception is very bad we needed something because my wife felt isolated without a landline (even though we never use it). We can use ATT wi-fi calling which works pretty good, but we had to have a landline option so we got the Ooma. I've yet to make a phone call on it. I will say that I get a TON of spam calls so I have the settings set to block everyone except contacts. We have no contacts programmed into the phone, but we still get some calls. I would recommend this as a backup, but since we have never had to use it I can't speak to the quality. One thing that sometimes happens is the phone displays the wrong date. I don't mean it's off by a day, I mean the date is totally wrong. Like today is Tuesday 14th July, 2020. It might show that it's Tuesday 15th, July 2020. Resetting it clears that issue.

Didn't want the landline expense so went with this VOIP system. My only issue was the first list of numbers that you select in the setup picked a number that was already an active number for someone else. It took my a couple of weeks to figure out how come I couldn't get any incoming calls. The person with that particular number was frustrated with all those weird calls. We only found out because I received an email from someone who had tried to call the ooma number and said there was nobody there with my name. Once we had it set up and confirmed the phone numbers, this system has worked well. The signal is good and have wandered outside without issues. I am not taking a star off the review as tech support was fairly available and helpful.

This service and handsets works great and is a clear alternative to the traditional land line, (which monthly is much more expensive). Sound quality, caller ID, and voice mail is fine, porting my old number over was easy, and Ooma customer support is very good.

Tired of paying high price for monthly seldom used home phone service, Had mine thru Cox and every month my bill went up a few dollars, decided to try this system, works great, super clear calls, was able to connect my fax machine with no problem, just follow the recommended settings, I’m now now paying $10. A month and getting far more features than I had before for 2-3 times more cost..... does require a good internet system to connect to however.... overall highly recommended

Ooma is a more reasonable way to use a "land line", far cheaper. It seems a s though all phone lines are now over an internet in some form. Eliminate the telephone company iif you have an internet connection. Only have been using system for two weeks, but seems to be fine.

The Oooma service is OK. They'll try to get you on the premium plan of course, but the basic plan does work. If you do eventually sell the device, be sure to de-register it first, else it will effectively be a brick.

This is a decent phone. Loud Speaker on handset quality is not good. It’s very distorted. Stand by battery life is not good. Since the phone is all black it’s hard to find at night. But call is great quality.

Overall, I’m satisfied with this item. The handsets are disappointing. Not good sound quality at all on them. I ended up connecting my old handsets into the back of the unit. They sound much better. You can buy this item without the handsets, which is what I recommend.

Wanted to keep a land line, but wanted to save money. So we ditched our $25 per month line with Comcast and got the Ooma. Now our bill is around $6 a month. Service is great and the phones are nice.

Great call quality as long as you have a great internet provider. If you have a lot of devices on your network and or have slow internet speeds this may not work well for you. I recommend at least 100mbs down and at least 20mbs up speed. If you have their premium service you can manually block numbers if you get a lot of spam calls.

Hardware is a problem with poor information

Ooma publishes poor information on how you can set up the system. Note you cannot use a headset with these handsets. The only ways to use a headset is to either pay for their poorly rated phone system that is not cheap or purchase a different wired phone system. If you opt for their phone system you need to make sure your headset will work. Setting up a bluetooth headset is also a lot of work. If you use a different phone system note your router or modem needs to be where you are going to use it. In general there should be an easier roadmap on how to set up a variety of systems. As for the service, which is why this is not a one star review, in general was easy to get going and the cost is great at just taxes. Note that you need to actually opt out of Premier online as it automatically enrolls you.

The device itself was easy to setup and works fairly well. Sometimes I have to unplug/reboot the system for it to work but still cheaper so, it will do. The phones that came with it suck as they sound muffled; not clear at all. We just hooked up our old phone set which sounds way better than the Ooma provided phones.
