I thought this would be a short term purchase

I really thought this was going to be a short term purchase but I love how easy it was to setup and I do not have additional fees to use this phone since I am already paying for the max internet.

Ooma Try #2 … mostly Success

So … I bought Ooma several years ago and reception coverage was spotty so I returned. I figured this newer version had better performance at longer distances. It does way better than previous generation but I still have some dead spots. As a backup homephone and for the bargain monthly price of only taxes and fees (less than $10 per month), I’m keeping this one. Watch out for auto-subscription to their premium paid service. I apparently did not cancel in time and had to spend 30+ minutes with customer service to be refunded the cost.

I am pleased with my purchase. Customer service was helpful and the equipment seems to be quality. AT&T had kept increasing their charges to the point that I wasn't going to pay it any more. It should pay for itself, with the savings, in less than 6 months.

    Great VOIP not great phones.

The Ooma system is great, the phones not so much. The sound quality of the phones themselves was not good. So, I switched out the phones on the system for some nice Panasonic cordless phones, and the signal is crystal clear! One of the better VOIP systems out there. There are some nice features on the Ooma app.

Bought to eliminate the high cost of ATT land line. Installation was easy and even fun. The Ooma is doing great for the job for which it was bought.

Works great but handsets are a little heavy but i still use my old Panasonic system with it as well. I'm saving at may 15 bucks a month. Call quality is generally great.

I have some issues with it. They are it is very wacky behavior when the call waiting feature happens and your on a normal phone, but for what this is and what it costs its a no brainer. I have terrible internet at my house and i think there super clear stuff is overstated but it really isnt so bad. I think if they worked out some kinks it could easily be a 5. Definately would recommend it to a friend. to be honest im tainted cause i hate my isp (optimum) so anything I can do to not give them any more money i would spend 10 fold. there is real dislike there and rightful so

GOOD VOIP FOR LAND LINE SERVICE.

Good Product and better than paying Xfinity for a land line or closes thing to a land line now a days. The setup can be hard for people who are senior citizens who want simplicity in plug and play and it's easy but as easy as 123 not completely so. But over all agoof product and cheaper than Xfinity so yes for the price and not having a big monthly bill for a landline.

The speaker on the back of the headsets are a bit crude. Other than that it serves my purpose as a secondary communications device.

This is a very good value. We decided to keep our home phone #, but wanted to save money. So, we switched from AT&T to Ooma for only $6.83 per month of fees. This base unit and two handsets is great!

Good product with a quirk or two…

Seems to be a reasonable product overall but does have a few less than desirable quirks. Mostly, it’s really slow to return to service if power or network drops. Second, the app is buggy and often times out when trying to do something. That said, their Support CHAT service functions well and someone was always quick to respond.

Love it! If you already have high speed internet, this is a great way to keep your bills low. You buy it once, and save lots of money each month on your phone bill. It's wonderful. I've had one before, but this time I got the Ooma phones as well. It can also connect to your cell phone, so you never miss an important call.

Excellent alternative to a traditional "land line." The call quality is excellent, and the perks of ringing your cellphone if you are not it is phenomenal. The set up I purchased has 2 handsets. A needed and simplified system for sure.

    Great Service / Junk Handsets

Okay, this is really a two part review in many ways. Ooma the service and basic device: These are great! If you want to keep a home phone number and handsets, the base station is great, the service is great, I can wholeheartedly recommend it. Ooma the handsets: These are horrible cheap pieces of junk. When they work they're fine, they feel cheap, look cheap, and are built cheap. When they charge, which is rarely, they do work, but you cannot rely on them. There are still decent phones out there, wired and wireless, buy a set and plug them into the port on the back of the base unit and all of the complaints go away.
