Setting up Ooma was a piece of cake. Handsets are simply awesome and reception covers the whole house and even going outside. I was very impressed with overall reception. The only downside is that we did have a power outage and we lost the phone but that was expected being that it requires internet to work. Voice quality is great and best part it's free - with the exception of some fees around $6.

Nice unit for making and giving me house phones again. Very well priced on buy the unit and for monthly fee after words. Only thing is I wish batteries would last longer when off base. Only last about 2 days off charge, but they charge up fairly quick.

Ooma seems too good to be true. It is cheap, simple to use, and reliable. I have the base, 3 wireless handsets, and a desk phone. The system is so flexible that it can be a simple to use home phone, or an excellent option for a home office or a tech geek like me. There are so many optional advanced features. Some are not perfect, like I have yet to be able to get my cell phone to properly connect. But other things like connecting a Bluetooth headset to the base makes it so nice to be able to talk on the phone while I am making dinner. The range of the base is also impressive. It is located in my spare bedroom while the farthest away handset is on the opposite end of my apartment. Even though it sits below my WiFi router and SmartHome hub, the handset has full bars for signal strength. With the optional battery backup, the system can continue to run without power (as long as your modem is also on battery power). P

Bought it for my mom since she insists on using a landline. I was able to transfer her number from Vonage. Works good as far as I know. Much cheaper than sticking with Vonage.

i wanted to try the OOMA AIR because it is wireless and can be placed anywhere. It works really good. All my calls , incoming and outgoing work fine. A bit different than landline, a 2-3 second lag in connection. But saving $90.00 a month is worth it. You will not be dissapointed.

Ooma Try #2 … mostly Success

So … I bought Ooma several years ago and reception coverage was spotty so I returned. I figured this newer version had better performance at longer distances. It does way better than previous generation but I still have some dead spots. As a backup homephone and for the bargain monthly price of only taxes and fees (less than $10 per month), I’m keeping this one. Watch out for auto-subscription to their premium paid service. I apparently did not cancel in time and had to spend 30+ minutes with customer service to be refunded the cost.

I have some issues with it. They are it is very wacky behavior when the call waiting feature happens and your on a normal phone, but for what this is and what it costs its a no brainer. I have terrible internet at my house and i think there super clear stuff is overstated but it really isnt so bad. I think if they worked out some kinks it could easily be a 5. Definately would recommend it to a friend. to be honest im tainted cause i hate my isp (optimum) so anything I can do to not give them any more money i would spend 10 fold. there is real dislike there and rightful so

I really thought this was going to be a short term purchase but I love how easy it was to setup and I do not have additional fees to use this phone since I am already paying for the max internet.

The Ooma system is great, the phones not so much. The sound quality of the phones themselves was not good. So, I switched out the phones on the system for some nice Panasonic cordless phones, and the signal is crystal clear! One of the better VOIP systems out there. There are some nice features on the Ooma app.

Love it! If you already have high speed internet, this is a great way to keep your bills low. You buy it once, and save lots of money each month on your phone bill. It's wonderful. I've had one before, but this time I got the Ooma phones as well. It can also connect to your cell phone, so you never miss an important call.

Excellent alternative to a traditional "land line." The call quality is excellent, and the perks of ringing your cellphone if you are not it is phenomenal. The set up I purchased has 2 handsets. A needed and simplified system for sure.
