Bought this for my kids since they really don’t need a cell phone yet and this gives them a sense of freedom to talk to relatives without the distraction of a screen.

Really a good set. Works best when the main unit is plugged into the wired router or switch. Set up was a breeze and Ooma seems like they thought the process through.

Easy set up with zero issues, I couldn't believe the simplicity in setting this up and switching my number over! So far no issues, I would have gotten one of these units a lot sooner!

Ooma telephone staff misinform you on startup cost

Telephone staff @ Ooma were untruthful about startup and ongoing costs. I discovered the $40 porting fee and the extra yearly fee of $30 for Hawaii & Alaska only after buying the telo air with handsets for $146 with tax. $146+40 +30 = $216 start up cost. Ongoing monthly $7 for fees & taxes +2.50 comes to $9.50 a month which is reasonable. However I was getting it to keep my landline number for infrequent calls from relatives and could do that by pairing my panasonic wireless extension phones to a retired call phone with bluetooth and port the landline # to a Redpocket Mobile account for $8.25 a month and save the $216 start up costs so I returned the Ooma unit to Best Buy. Also if you live in HI or AK trying to activate is a pain and you will need call Ooma for help with it.

This is my second Ooma base unit. First had issues keeping a consistent connection to my router. New one is much better, but you need to reach out to Ooma Customer service if you are switching devices, to insure your account is transitioned smoothly.

I’ve been reading about the Ooma Voice over IP telephone system for 2-3 years or longer, and wanted to switch from phone service through cable company to this VoIP, but was skeptical about the entire service. I finally decided to buy this package that included the system and two handsets. I was quite impressed after trying it for a few days, and then decided to port over my phone number to the Ooma network. This is a great product and definitely recommend this product and the service.
