Convenient solution for getting a landline

If you need a landline, this is a great solution. That said, even the free plan ends up costing about $6/m in fees. This is a great solution for old people who insist on a landline and who are paying something crazy for it.

Clinging to my old landline number now over fiber

I couldn't get the cell phone app to link so I had to set up using a hardwire either net connection to a laptop (still wifi to my router). It was a bit of a hassle but now everything is working fine. I got the Premium plan to port over my old phone number which worked smoothly. Biggest complaint now is the voicemail recorder is awful. Phone service is fine and as advertised; but I can't get over the low quality of voicemail recording; it is like a worn out micro cassette tape from the 1980's. We don't use this line much so I think it will suffice.

When I first got it, I got a bad one, so after many days of talking to the company, they replaced the base unit. The voice sounds clear, but not when you put it on speaker. Then it sounds a bit muffled.

Great upgrade from the original ooma. New version is compatible with the new add ons from ooma. Still has a phone jack for a normal cordless or corded phone. Can be used first on internet or behind your router. Very happy wuth the upgrade. If you are upgrading from an older ooma make sure you follow the instructions and call the 800 number.

I initially purchased the Ooma Telo Air, and it functioned correctly for about a month before it stopped working entirely. In order to continue using the service, I had to purchase an additional device (a switch) to connect the unit directly via Ethernet, as the wireless functionality was no longer reliable. Additionally, I had paid for Ooma to port over my existing home phone number. However, during my time as a customer, my number was reassigned to another individual or provider—without any notification from Ooma. This was extremely disappointing, as I expected that my number would be secured once it was ported into your service.

It was easy to set up but if you are going to use the same phone number as your I'll ooma, you have to call customer service in order to keep your number.
