Don't do it, this product is junk, I bought this brand new the WIFI with the router right next to the unit was 1 bar of signal, I had to connect via LAN cable to keep the connection up, Calls would drop, and get choppy. It was a hit or miss to dial out, and incoming calls would not come through. Sometimes the unit would work but with only a 10% success rate it was not worth it. Canceling the account is a beast in itself, I had to play the ooma retention game and it ate 45 minutes of my life. I recommend you do not rely on this unit for an emergency instead use cellular

Saving money comparing with Verizon phone services. I dislike lack of simple call blocking with basic plan. Premium plan costs $9.99 extra per month.

A bit underwhelmed by this product. Though the product looks high quality in presentation, it feels very cheap to the touch. The interface also feels very 1990s, but not in a good way. The call audio quality is probably the worst part about it. I have not tried using our old cordless phones with the base station to see if that sounds better, but I shouldn't have to for $100+.

The unit was fairly easy to set up but took a long time to connect to my router wirelessly. I have one phone connected directly to the router and one wireless Ooma handset. Very handy but sometimes the quality of the calls can be very bad - usually the person I am talking to hears a lot of static. Still it is great for the cost.

    Device ID Issue

Wanted this for my elderly mother who wants a real phone with a handset vs a smartphone. Bought it for her as a Xmas present. Tried to set it up and keep getting "Device ID Issue. Something went wrong." Called Ooma today and spent nearly 45 minutes on the phone giving information to Ooma only to be told that they are getting the same error message on their end and can't activate the device. Such a huge disappointment. Is Best Buy selling knock offs?
