Experienced problems porting a number

They say it takes about 3-4 weeks to port a number if not expedited. If you call they can expedite it, but you have don’t have a say in when the number is actually ported. Also, you can’t communicate with the team that handles porting. You deal with someone at a centralized number who in turn submits “tickets” to the port team.
