Have had nothing but irraticly poor telephone service since moving from AT&T to Ooma. Have probably spent 15 hours with Ooma reps almost daily trying to get the service right. Most people who call us or we call complain about poor and irratic reception. Ooma has been excellent to try and fix the problem and finally are going to replace my Ooma Telo and hopefully this will work. But so far I would not recommend this service and will likely return to AT&T if the replacement Telo does not work.

Experienced difficulties porting an existing number to Ooma. They say it takes about 3-4 weeks to port a number if not expedited. If you call they can expedite it, but you have don’t have a say in when the number is actually ported. Also, you can’t communicate with the team that handles porting. You deal with someone at a centralized number who in turn submits “tickets” to the port team.

The call quality is decent. Make sure you check the monthly taxes and fees. There may be better deals from other carriers.

Caution: your new plan comes with a free "trial" of Ooma premier, which you have to call and cancel if you don't want to pay over double the monthly amount of the base plan. You can't cancel online; you must call customer service. The supervisor told me they do send an email when your trial is about to end. I did not receive this email. Very unhappy with a company that charges you double what you signed up for. Instead, send me emails about upgrading to premier instead of waiting until your customers notice that they're being charged more than expected.

The product worked perfectly until it stopped working less than a month into buying. Called the company, who replaced it after forcing me several times to troubleshoot on the line, knowing the product was dead. I’m on my second one and I’m hoping for the best. I’d recommend cautiously.

If your looking for a low cost home phone service, this is it. Net need to look further.
