Too far from desk
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This did not work for me. You have to have your phone plugged into this and this device plugged into your modem. That would leave my phone way too far away from my desk. Had to return it.

Awful!
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Save your money. We've had the Ooma for just about a month and most of the time, it doesn't work. We've had to use our cell phones to test and we find that calls don't come in or if that isn't happening, the house phone doesn't ring. You never know if you are getting a call. I like a home phone but I guess we will suffer our losses and just use our cell phones always. Would give it zero stars but that's not a choice.

After a year, it's a brick.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ooma was to some extent decent. It provided subpar audio quality for VoIP despite it's advertised claims to the contrary. It is missing many of the functionalities compared to other VoIP providers with real cloud-based integration for home/office use. One month ago, it ceased to operate despite performing many hard factory resets. We plan not to buy a replacement. I had a hard time convincing my wife that our cellphones are sufficient. I'm a professional IT Network Integrator.

Save on your home phone service
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I just got this for my dad. I have had an Ooma box for 4 years, it works great! Used it when I got rid of my cable package - transferred my home phone to it, went off without a hitch, have not looked back. Transfer to Ooma service was seamless, and service has been reliable. Recommend you pay the $90/year for the Caller ID Name package, also includes junk caller block and other handy features. BestBuy often sells the Ooma box on sale too!

Pretty good, wish it was wireless.
||Posted . Owned for 7 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good, wish it was wireless. You have to buy an additional adapter to make it work in a location where you do not a have wired network connection.

Internet Phone
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Bought this unit to replace my Cox phone service as a backup home phone. Works okay but we have been disconnected during longer calls which can be a bit frustrating. At $4.00 a month cant complain.

Frugal folks beware
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Call quality is mediocre. You need to pay $$$ to port your number. Unless you pay extra a month, the basic services are uber vanilla. However, the bill is $6/month. Considering now that Verizon and Comcast give you phone for free when you bundle, not sure there is an advantage--however if you are cutting the cord, this option may work for you.
