Lousy product.Terrible support.Don't expect this product to compete with your current service or quality or support if you've currently got a land line.Or if you currently have a large dependable internet provider you're using for your VOIP.

Not a good value. Once I signed-up for Ooma Telephone Package it took me 4 calls to OOMA to get them to remove the account, and credit me back. Too much of a hassle. I went with MagicJack and it works perfect.

Everytime the system resets I lose functionality with automated phone systems. After the power outage yesterday I am unable to leave a voicemail with my housing authority to place a work order for maintenance.

I live in an area with ZettaBB service for internet. This system would not work well with that service. Incoming calls were ok but outgoing were clipped. Had to return the system. Purchased a Verizon home system instead and love it.

I was prepared to love this. After getting it home, we found out that there are only 15 towns in Montana that you are able to port your phone number. So disappointed that we had to return it.

    Cheap, reliable phone service

Like many folks I was looking at trying to save some money on my bundled internet, phone and cable TV bill . . . which wasn't bad with the introductory price . . . but the "regular" price just was a bit too much to swallow. After ditching the cable TV portion in favor of using my existing roof antenna and Roku 3, I began to explore the various phone options and eventually opted for Ooma. This may sound bad to say, but it's not . . . perhaps the best part of the Ooma Telos is that if you didn't know it, you would never know you were using VOIP instead of the regular old telephone line or cable to make your phone calls. Other than a short musical tone when I pick up the phone to make an outgoing call, everything works pretty much as it did before when I had phone service via the cable and before that when I had the local telephone company wire up the house . . . and I guess when you're like me and all you want is cheap, simple and reliable phone service, saying everything is pretty much the same is what truly matters. Of course, the one HUGE difference is the price. An initial outlay of $99 and then that's really all there is if you opt for the basic service. I mean, sure there is a $4 and change bill for the taxes and fees, but honestly it sure beats what I was paying before . . . and before I would have been paying those same fees. Oh sure, about once a month I get an e-mail from Ooma encouraging me to upgrade to a premium package, but this is about as much of a "hard sell" as they get. Quality of the service . . . well as mentioned . . . it's exactly like it was before . . . so there have been no weird distortions, dropped calls, static, echos, etc. Hooking up the Ooma Telos went well and was quite simple, although I have to rather ashamedly admit I had hooked up the telephone line to the wrong port and couldn't get it to work at first. However, a quick call to Ooma and their technical support and I was up and running in less than 5 minutes. I also read some folks saying that telemarketing calls seemed to increase. That has not been the case for me at all . . . in fact, if anything the very few calls I was getting from telemarketers has gone down . . . which is quite surprising since we bought the Ooma from Best Buy back in August and have gone this whole political election season without a single political call. So I guess if I had to sum things up I would say simply that if you are looking for a cheap, reliable way to have phone service at home I would not hesitate to recommend the Ooma Telos.

Easy setup, excellent features for the price. Has a free plan and a pay plan. Pay plan has lots of features at an incredible monthly or yearly price that beats any local carrier. Sound quality is excellent and no different than any phone service I have had previously. If your looking to save money in today's trying times. I would recommend getting one. You can port most phone numbers over to the new service with no hassles. Mine took about 4-5 days. I'm using all my existing phones and loving it.

I was somewhat skeptical in making this purchase, but someone told me it was good. Well, he wasn't kidding. This thing is AMAZING. It is super simple to set up. It's even clearer than my old phone service. It is saving me $40 per month. The voicemail is good, but I did get a nice fancy set of Panasonic phones with an answering machine as part of the base unit so I am now using that now. I just set Ooma to go to voicemail after like 7 rings, and my Panasonic picks up after 4 rings, so there's no problem at all. It works like a charm. I would highly recommend this to anybody. Also, customer support answers quickly to guide you through stuff. I ported my number over ($40) but that was well worth it since I'd had that number for 11 years. The port took place within 2 weeks and went through flawlessly. I just cannot say enough good things about this Ooma Telo. Everyone should make the switch if you want good quality calls for under $5 per month. I did opt out of the premier plan because I didn't feel I needed to spend the extra money on that, but it did have some nice features if you can justify it.

I had Ooma recommended to me by two trusted coworkers, and that's what made me decide to buy. The receiver is quite expensive but pays for itself quickly by eliminating your phone bill. I chose to purchase at Best Buy, rather than directly from Ooma or elsewhere, so that I could use rewards certificates to soften the blow. I have owned the product for 3+ months now. Setup is a snap, and the receiver works great. I had seen many reviews in which people have complained of call quality, latency issues, and dropped calls. I have had none of these problems. The only reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is that while the calls sound clear as day on my end, I have had a couple people tell me that there is static on their end. I am currently using the premium service for $10 a month. My favorite thing is the customizable call blocking. I think it's great to have a telemarketer call here and get a message that my number has been disconnected. However, I do think I am going to cancel the premium service for no reason other than I personally don't use any of the features, so why pay $10 a month. (You can still block calls without premium service, you just don't get the personalized options# Overall I have been very happy with the product. A big thing for me is that I can once again use my home phone for long distance calls and not have to worry about cell phone signal inside my house. In my case, I went from $26 a month phone bill, to about $3 #once I cancel the premium service of course), so that is reason enough to give it a try. If you are on the fence about switching, let this review push you over.

    Big Money Saver

It works as advertised. Call quality is very good, though sometimes I get a little noise or echo on the line. Set up was fairly easy, but I did not follow the directions to hook directly to my modem and use it as a router, nor did I connect a single phone directly to it. Instead, I connected it to my router and then to the phone line in, which feeds all the lines in my house. Wasn't sure it was going to work well, but it does. No issues in over a year. Nice savings on my phone bill each month. Only thing I don't like is that you need to subscribe to premier if you want call blocking. I get so many telemarketing calls these days that call block is almost a necessity. Instead of paying $10/mo for premier though, my solution was to buy a Panasonic phone that offered call block.

I'm not very tech savvy, but my bills were going up and up and my brilliant nephew said Ooma would save me lots. So I got on line and ordered one from my local Best Buy. A very nice gentleman in the store helped me with my purchase. My nephew helped me get it all set up and it looks like it will more an pay for itself. I'm still learning all the ins and outs of it and haven't had a full billing cycle, but the bill in my email was quite a bit less than the one I have been paying. It is loud and clear and got rid of a problem I have had thru 3 companies an a new set of phones.

Bought this on the spur of the moment after recommendation by a sales associate. But after looking it over and reading the materials, I decided I really did not need a lan line. That was a year ago. Have not once regretted only having a cell phone.
