International calling was good for 2.5 years
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I was a member since 2019 till I canceled last night. For 2.5 years the service worked great. Never any issues with calling domestically in the US or Canada. While Canada is not domestic don't see it as international. Around two months back calling India started having issues. The landline at my parents would never ring though ooma would try to make the call. We figured India is having an issue. Then we good annoyed so we called the Mobile line from WhatsApp and dialed the Landline again via Ooma no ring was received at my parents. Many would say just dial the mobile number. True to do so but parents are old so Landline is still a must. So then called Ooma and canceled also we were paying too much around $34 dollars with taxes. Billing which is outsourced and the people are also WFH could hear kids in the background did not care to retain the customer but were nice not annoy me with we are this we offer this.. On a good note unlike Vonage one can keep the device and reactive it later. Moved to an app this morning Rebtel and its working. Even informs one that landline is busy call later. We confirmed it by calling on the mobile phone as well. The reason I am not recommending this as the price is too high for unlimited international calling to the countries offered. I am sure Rebtel or others are cheaper for $10 dollars a month. Even T-Mobile offers something similar but mobile phones are not included yet for India on the T-Mobile $10 offer.

Pretty good. Would recommend to friends.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We've had OOMA for several years. Overall, we are quite pleased. o Voice quality is good. It's much better than cellphones. o The website allows you to selectively block all calls except those in your contact list. Blocked calls can either be routed to voicemail or given a "phone number disconnected" message if you want. We really like this feature. o Works fine with a cordless home system. Am not sure if it has enough power to work with a house with older style wired telephones. o BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that the Telo units only last a few years. We've had to replace them twice in the last ~5 years. o BEWARE: cost is not "free". While the _basic_ OOMA service is free, they have to charge about $6 per month for the 911 service and taxes. It's not much, but expect to be charged this small amount every month on your credit card. o BEWARE: the basic service does not include voicemail. If you want that expect to pay ~$120 a year (one time charge??) o Overall, the OOMA telo is probably much cheaper than getting your phone through your cable or local telephone company, even with the "premium" package (voicemail, etc.)

Lower Cost Line Using Ooma
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Ooma offers more features than the major carriers for less. For example, filtering unwanted calls is available at no extra cost. Yes, there is the initial cost of the device, however, once set up it works as promise with just the local fees (< $10) and the cost recovered in less than 6 months or so.

Rather switch than fight.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First, I received the ooma a mere 1 1/2 days after I ordered it. 2ndly, it worked. (Per instructions, I did not plug it in until after I registered it.) Between following the quick start booklet and more detailed (and simple) on line instructions, it was in service. To clarify, it's been in service for only 3 weeks. 3rdly, the sound quality is great. Biggest bonus - I am no longer paying $85 a month for a land line.

Works well. Easy set up.
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works perfectly. It was really easy to set up, just follow the guide. I used the website. I only use this as a home phone because I have really spotty cell service in my house and wifi calling doesn't even work correctly. This is a perfect as a home phone, now that we are post obi talk/google voice. The downside is the price, it's expensive, but I hope it pays itself off over the years.

Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ooma - Telo VoIP device has enabled me to cut the cord from my regular telephone services by connecting to my internet provider thus eliminating that bill. I am only billed for the applicable state and local fees associated with the regular phone service. The clarity, features and setup of this device has been seamless and will pay for it's self within a couple of months. I did'nt opt for the long distance at this time as it is covered through my cellular service.

Good alternative to replace the landline service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Looking for an alternative to landline to avoid the increasing prices, I received the box at home in a short time, it did not take me long to set up the Ooma Telo. So far I enjoyed the service.

Super Happy
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This purchase was to replace an Ooma Telo that was damaged due to an electric surge during a storm. I’ve been a Ooma customer for many years and am extremely pleased with the device and service. The Telo is a versatile device, and it replaced my AT&T home service. I bought 2 Linc devices and the Premiere service to have 2 separate phone numbers for my coaching and consulting work. Customer service is always great. After the electric surge, I purchased a replacement unit, contacted Customer Service, and I was back in business in a matter of hours. I was kept informed throughout the process via chat and email. Will keep using Ooma!

Great service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We haven't had a home phone for years, but I wanted to use one for my home business rather than using my cell. We had not heard of OOMA, but a friend had highly recommended it, so we bought a similar model to this one (ours was $159). We have had it for over a year now and have had NO problems with it at all. We have used other internet phones in the past and had very poor service, so we were a little apprehensive about the quality of service of OOMA. But we have great reception, clear calls, and would definitely recommend it. In fact we have recommended it to several of our friends.

Highly recommend for dependable, low cost landline

This can't be beat
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently switched from voyage to Ooma. Best decision I ever made. Call quality is superior in every way. In my state the monthly phone tax is only 3.98 which beat the vonage $34 monthly fee. For an upgrade fee of 9.99 month you get tons of more features but the average joe will only need the basic setup which would only cost your local phone taxes. The setup was extremely easy. I even ported in my old vonage phone number. For me porting was free because I opted for the $100 upgrade because I do make a lot of long distance calls.

Ooma - Telo VoIP Home Phone Service
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I dropped my land line over a year ago and went with just my cell phone. The only problem I had was the cell phone wouldn't work in the basement were my office is. I came across this service and thought I would try it. After setting it up and then doing a chat with CS the box was activated. So far clear sound and works great. But if the internet goes down then it back to my cell phone. Other thoughts: read the instructions and follow them. Then to activate you do that over the internet. That was it, up and running.

Should have switched over earlier
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I recently switched over to Ooma about a month ago and it's been working great. I ported my existing landline number over (paid a one time fee) and it only took about a few days to finalize. As long as my internet is working, the Ooma works. Now I only pay minimal tax/fees to have phone service instead of a monthly plan from a local company!

Works well and so inexpensive!
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ooma was a gamble because I have internet in my mom's house and she hardly uses the phone. Thus, instead of buying another phone line, I just bought the Telo and plugged in her old phone base and extra handset. It worked like a charm. The reception is fine as long as the internet is working well and I would say the quality is good. Plus, I love that I can just hear the voicemails left on my smartphone or tablet. Works very well. 4.5 stars.

Review of Setup and Porting
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a review of my initial Ooma experience. I recently switched from AT&T VOIP to the Ooma Telo. Sign up took about 20 minutes because I was reading all of the options, otherwise it would have been less. The set up is easy and the Telo had no problems updating software and making a connection. Right away the calls were clear and worked as promised. I was amazed how fast my home phone number was ported from AT&T to Ooma. Just two and a half business days. So far a great initial experience.

Easy phone service without local cable company fee
Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Works well so far. Purchase was easy and so was the setup. I just moved my phone number over from the local cable provider and will break even and start saving $15+ a month within about 8 months. .
