Worked very well
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The unit worked very well once I made sure that there was sufficient bandwidth reserved for this device. This isn't a problem if you let Ooma sit between your router/modem and your internal network, but if it isn't a simply firewall on your network, you need to reserve a portion of your total bandwidth for this device in order to make sure it always sounds clear. 128kbit/s per line is enough for this purpose.

Much better than MagicJack
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The device itself is well constructed, and the call quality we've experienced so far (about 2 weeks) has been mostly very good. In two overseas calls, the connection dropped both times, requiring us to re-dial. Our main complaint has been with Ooma's customer service, which has been disappointing -- confusing and inconsistent information, and in one case completely failing to follow through on their commitments. If you want Ooma Premier service, you're probably better off buying a Telo packaged with at least one HD3 handset (which is required to fully use the second number).

Love My Ooma
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. Not only am I saving on my monthly phone bill, I am getting way more. I was paying $34 per month for fairly basic services (call waiting, voice mail, and only 30 minutes long distance). Now for $10 plus tax for their premium service, I get unlimited USA long distance, voice mail with text notification, call forwarding, premium call blocking with Nomorobo service, caller block list and a contact list. I have 911 service, apps for Nest, Alexa, Philips Hue etc. I can view call history, successfully transferred my old home phone number and on and on. And most of all, the call quality is excellent although this does depend on the quality of you internet connection. I am very glad I selected Ooma!

Why would you choose anything else!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wish I knew about this sooner. I saw the Magic Jack commercials on T.V. and always thought it was too good to be true. Free phone service by just plugging something into your computer, yeah right! After I read a glowing review on PCMAG.COM about the Ooma, I decided to try it out. And guess what? It really works. The Ooma is more sophisticated and the voice quality is excellent for me. Free nationwide calling, cheap overseas calling. You just pay tax and 911 fees. Varies with your state but for me it's about $7 a month. Now why would you pay much much more to another phone company to get the same thing?

||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.i just bought a ooma home telephone system from best buy and told ATT to keep their rising telephone bills and long distance charges. the ooma was easy to set up, using my high speed internet modem/router. Im saving $40.00/month and the phone service has been great.

Nice Alternative to Land Line
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Got Ooma device as an alternative to an expensive land line. It fully replaces most of the features the land line had at a fraction of the cost. It was simple to install and the web site interface for my phone # is simple to use.

I was purchasing an Ooma unit to replace one
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We have used Ooma for our VOI at home for years and thoroughly enjoyed it. We purchased a new unit to replace our old one and it has performed perfectly. We make all of our long distance calls toll free (currently we only have family, etc., in the U.S. to call. Would highly recommend this service. Currently costs us less than $5 per month and works over our internet connection and we have never had trouble with it until the old unit died after about 5 years, and we replaced it. Again, no problems whatsoever with it. They can even usually 'port your old number into the new system.

Good but not Great
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I switched from TWC's digital phone service thinking both are digital over the Internet. The Ooma hardware and service are good. My main number was ported to Ooma within 3 or 4 days. The voice quality on most calls is very good but not on all calls. I have had a few calls where I couldn't understand the caller. Calls from a Cell phone and/or when a caller using a speaker phone poor voice quality.

Lower your phone bills
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We're using CenturyLink for our phone and DSL service, and decided to fetch a VOIP device (Ooma) to drop the phone and retains the DSL service, which is a flat fee much lower than the phone which was getting out of hand expensive. The Ooma paid for itself within two months. It has been reliable as long there is a Internet connection and that's all we need. Plug in the RJ-11 modular plug from your existing telephone into the back of the Ooma and it works as if there wasn't any change in service. Of course there is initial setup to do on Ooma's website, which was not a problem.

Great land-line alternative
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great sale deal at Best Buy convinced me to purchase. The Ooma unit was fairly easy to set up with Quick-start guide plus on-line info help. A glitch did occur that was corrected by 1- online FAQ help/hints and 2- a call to customer support. Terrific service experience.

Great for saving money
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The Ooma Telo is a great way to save money and keep your land line. The upgrade at 120.00 per year is well worth the extra cost. The voice quality is really good and the features are fairly easy to use.

Best VOIP solution I could find
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great, low cost solution for a family that needed a phone for kids but wasn't interested in paying for local and long distance from the phone company. This solution is inexpensive and the quality is good. We are pleased with it. Only down side is that the Ooma needs to be located by your router. In our case, with a computer, speakers, external hard drive, desk lamp and now coma base and connected phone our desk top has gotten fairly cluttered.
