    So far so good

I've had it up and running for about two weeks. Sound quality is about the same as my previous Verizon unit (cell signal converted to land line phone). Customer support has been good. I've been getting a lot of telemarketing calls since I started the service. Maybe because my previous phone was a cell line. One thing about Ooma is they push their premier (pay more) service a bit too hard. I wish the standard service had call forwarding. But it's not a big deal. I like the low monthly $4.50.

We were looking for a house phone alternative and our Best Buy sales rep suggested OOMA to us. The Set-up was simple and OOMA helped port my number for a fee (porting is free if you buy Premium Plan for 1 year). Since your phone is attached to the OOMA box, we had to purchase a new phone with a matching handset -- to have two phones. Many of the special features come with the premium plan, which is an additional expense. OOMA's website is easy to use and very informative.

I have had a landline for many years. It was hard to let it go, but when a friend told me about Ooma, I decided to break away from the land line. It's been great so far. It was very easy to set up. The web site was easy to navigate. I had to wait for the other company to let go of my phone number, but that was the only thing. This is working great!

Only 6 bucks a month for a 'landline' vs Spectrum's 20 or Frontier's 25? Nice! Works perfectly with the multi-handset and answering machine system we've had for ages. Only complaint is that it takes a very long to time to start up the first time and after a power/internet outage. So long you might think it doesn't work anymore. 15-20 minutes after your internet comes back this thing will still be flashing red. Took off one star for that reason. Otherwise, I'm happy with it so far.

Am so very pleased at this time as it has cut my phone bill tremendously, but at same time with only one cell phone needed for emergency calling.

Works fine at an unbeatable price. Just $80 for the phone router and then about $5.11 per month. And it worked with my old cordless phone. Try it out.

The Ooma unit is fantastic. I does more than I expected! The voice quality is very good. It now looks like I do not need a stand alone mobile service -- one connected to Ooma would work. I like the call blocking. What little that is not automatically blocked is very easy to Do It Yourself. I have better service now than my old landline at a much lower cost. Way to Go Ooma!

I bought this because my cell service can be poor in the house, people complain I break up.I haven't used it enough to rate it. On one conversation I was told the quality was poor, another time the other person said they could hear me clearly. I have second rate internet service, so that could be an issue. The Ooma handset is cheesy. No volume control, clumsy select buttons. For the amount of use it will get, I don't really care. Overall, a good value.

Read about Ooma being a great way to lower phone bills. So far the call clarity has been someone spotty, but overall we are happy. Over the long term I do expect that this will help us save money. It was easy to set up, although my husband mentioned that the colored lights indicating the set up process are hard to distinguish (red vs. purple).

This is just awesome. I have used Magic Jack and Nettalk for the past two years and the call quality was just terrible. I have had the Ooma system for about two months now and have not had a single issue. Calls sound amazing. I highly recomend. It's a bit on the expensive side, but worth it.

We couldn’t quite break away from the landline. Too many things/contacts associated with it, but didn’t want to pay landline fees either. Ooma solved that problem years ago and made our number more portable. Can access VMs via our cell, answer and make calls with the cell app, etc., all for a very low monthly fee. We love the base station, but the phones are just clunky at n every way. Far simpler to use with standard wireless handsets by uniden or Panasonic and call it good. Have had Ooma for around 12 years at this point. The service has been great the entire time.

We are using Ooma free service [only pay taxes / fees] after being on VOIP for 15 years. The 1st year will not save us much, but thereafter the savings add up. Unit is very easy to setup and porting of existing # took 2 days and went without a hitch.

Perfect way to reduce phone bills! I was paying $65/month in part because of lots of fees and taxes. Ooma Telo was easy to configure and plugs into my home wiring to provide phone service throughout my home with good sound quality. There are VOIP options that are even cheaper but setup is more difficult.

Needed to move my home phone with me to new location. Read about Ooma and bought it that same day. It was easy to set up and full of features previously unavailable to me. Voice quality is excellent as are the Ooma handsets. If you are still holding onto your home phone, this is the product to get.

If you need a phone line for your office or home besides a cell, this is the way to go. It's $100 purchase and then you only pay about $4/month for taxes. 2 months with a conventional phone line through the cable company will cost more and it does the same thing! I have an in home business and use the phone for numerous calls every day and it is working perfectly! It was also very easy to set up.

This is a good way to add home phone. It costs $10 a month for the premier service. The base service is around $5. I paid for premium because it gives you the free number port (~$50). I have had no issues with the quality of the calls.

For years I had been overpaying my cable company for their modem and phone service until I discovered Ooma in the store. Just bought the device, activated it, ported my line fo a nominal fee and done. Similar quality for a much lower price. They have a premium service for a small additional fee that I am still trying out, but it is not a must have...

Great way to save $$ instead of having to go through your local carrier. Instructions are a little vague, and you may have to call Ooma to clarify. If you just want a fax machine you will need need 2 phone numbers anyway and have to get the premier account and a telephone splitter which costs a little more but still alot cheaper.
